Accountancy is a doddle. I ran my business for forty years and did all the accounts myself. I had an accountant the first year and then found that he wasn't claiming for everything he could have done. If you can add up and read a book you can do accounts. Rocket science it ain't.

 

Perhaps he means that only one person at his university achieved a first in his subject when he was attending.

Of course between 1970 and 1980 people achieved a first throughout the UK and the many subjects studied .

 

Then the fat mong should've said that, not 'When I got my 2:1, only one person got a First'.

If he's willing to split hairs over me not putting 'fees' after 'tuition', then he should be more specific.

 

So what you are contending is this then? 7% of graduates get first class degrees but oddly no accountancy students. To use your road accident analogy there are thousands of accidents but none involve moped riders. That doesn't stack up. Putting someone on ignore - If ever there was an equivalent of taking to your bunker and giving your driver fifty litres of four star to incinerate your body that's it.

the girl who got a first was super bright - in the second year she had a nervous breakdown before the exams and had to take them before the start of the third year
a close friend of mine had a nervous breakdown in the second year as well
he got his degree but didnt make it as an accountant
