Oh dear Hairy, oh dear oh dear. I think you meant to write 'sorry to take you all away.' However what you actually wrote was 'sorry to take you all way.' How embarrassing for you to make such an error right in the very middle of the annual convention of the NCGN (Norwich City Grammar Nazis.)
Well that's blown my chances of joining the NCGN. I had spotted some instances of mis-apostrophisation in the heat of a match day thread once and hoped to use that as evidence in my application for membership. Oh well.
Oh I love to read it all. In the nearly 10 years of reading and posting here it's these curios that make it feel like a place worth coming back to. (Edited due to shameful display of grammatical nonsensery)
Ohhhhh shhhhiiiittttttt. (How have we got to the last 5 games of the season so far ahead that we are just talking about grammatical whoopsies? What a time to be alive!)
No Robbie, the NCGN applies to your abrasive sarcastic verse, your castigation of Rob's Merriam-Webster source as irrelevant because of your dislike of American usage and your only conceding that the rest of us were correct when Rob cited Oxbridge sources you were willing to accept. That's what qualified as 'grammar naziism' (also correctly spelled Nazism, before you embark on further criticism).

Nice to be back to football, Cromer. This seems to be the critical bit from DF: “I was more worried to win football games on this level and also for next season, to plan the squad, there is no space right now to be selfish and think about my situation. I have a contract until June 2022 so it is such a long time still. I have always fulfilled my contracts in my life and for that nobody has to be worried." Hope that's true.
2 promotions in 4 years is remarkable by any standards. In any league in the world it would be noteworthy, but in the Championship? And to achieve that a second time with a squad as demoralised as it's possible to get after an abject relegation season! If he could keep us in the top flight next season his CV would be glowing red hot...and t.b.f, if he was to move on to 'better' things when his contract expires, who could blame him? I believe him when he says he'll honour his existing deal here, but if he can somehow keep us afloat next term, the world will be pretty much his lobster.
What is more, two promotions (assuming we get two points in five games) achieved by playing expansive, enjoyable football. This season he has been phenomenal. As you say, if he leaves at the end of the next season, he deserves whatever big job he gets.
Totally agree with all of that. DF has done a great job in achieving so much and deserves whatever comes along next year.
For all the praise DF is getting, it was only last September, that some wanted him replaced or at the very least major changes to how he coached.
I was one who feared for our chances of promotion after the Derby County debacle and expressed my concerns about DF after a terrible PL season. Many months later and we sit on top of Championship with promotion all but secured. How the situation was turned round has been debated in this forum many times. I would imagine that DF wants another crack at the PL and this will be his priority given promotion. Nothing in football remains constant so we would not be surprised if he moved on after say, 5 or 6 years. Will he prove to be our greatest ever Manager? This is another debating point for the future.
I think it’s difficult for him to be the greatest manager, because realistically he’s highly unlikely to get a third place finish in the Premier League, or win the League Cup or have success in European competition. It’s the sad reality of present day football. What I think he has already bagged, though, is that he has credit (along with Webber of course) for playing a huge part of guaranteeing our success for probably the next 5-10 years or so - just like Lambert managed to give us 5 years of security. The advantage I think he has over the Lambert reign is that a lot of the money is being invested in the academy, foundations for the club, so I am really positive it will last much longer than 5 years. I think if we stay up we may also see Norwich get sold before long.
I thought HRH Delia was clinically categorical that the club would only ever be passed on to her nephew?
Idah and McGovern pictured back in team training today. Be good to see Idah get some minutes before the end of the season if possible. Also be interesting if McGovern or Nyland get the bench slot for the rest of the season. Might say something about Nyland's future.
