Poch coming in for a lot of stick at the moment on Twitter. His PSG side just lost a top of the table clash at home against Lille and is getting criticism for his style of play (or lack of). There’s still 7 games to go and they’re only 3 points behind Lille after today’s loss but should he fail to win the league with that PSG side, his reputation will take an absolute hammering.
Most of it from people with the phrase "UTD" in their username or Bruno Fernandes as their avatar As if those same ****wits weren't saying a couple of years ago that all their club had to do was click their fingers and Poch would join them...
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ldado-granada-manchester-united-europa-league Good interview here with Soldado. Clearly an intelligent footballer and a great interviewee. One of those that I’m always a bit sad he didn’t make it with us, he seems pretty up front and I’ve seen previous interviews with him in the Graun where he talks about his time with us in quite frank terms. Refreshing to see honesty and a seeming lack of spin from a player who would have every right to be defensive. Hope he smashes United anyhow. Good luck Bobby Soldier. One of those who I think would always get a good reception if he came back to the Lane even though he never really justified his fee on the pitch.
Even though his end product wasn’t always the best, Lennon was genuinely one of the most exciting players I’ve had the fortune of watching. First thought whenever he got the ball was to take on the FB and get a cross in, his pace during his prime was so frightening. Don’t really make wingers like him anymore either. Happy Birthday, good sir!
The equaliser in the 4-4 NLD was a thing of utter beauty but his best game was the 9-1 v Wigan. Was lucky enough to be there and he was simply electric. 3 or 4 assists and a goal iirc. Loved watching him play. When my youngest was 5 ish she called him Garum lemon after she misheard his name. Yet another great memory he gave us. Hope he's found peace in his head now.
I loved how the team were always so protective of him. I remember when he squared up to George Boateng of Middlesbrough (this must be about 15 years ago now ), Boateng looked like he was about to murder him and then Zokora and Chimbonda acted like big brothers and jumped in, Chimbonda restrained Boateng whilst Zokora smacked him one in the chest, I could see it so clearly from where I was sat. Zokora got sent off... but so did Boateng . Albeit Boateng did appeal and was successful IIRC.
