The Grand Old Duke of York term is interesting - in the sense of it means being stuck in the middle, unable to decide and without a leader to make the decision. Very much they were already anticipating not being able to make a call or go one way or the other, which I think is where this will be tore apart by the likes of NDM. You cannot, as a governing organisation, keep a member in utter limbo - I would imagine that's where this will come down to competence, etc.
It’s very derisory wording for sure. I mean you’re talking about the worlds richest investment fund and they’re pissing about because it didn’t matter. The city of Newcastle, its people, all ignored under the sneering corrupt nose of ****ing corporate pigs like Hoffman and Masters. Incredible. Ashley’s bad, but he’s not alone.
So basically the PL appear to have thought they were effectively successful in chasing the Saudi bid out of the building, and - for some inexplicable reason that only Masters or Hoffman can answer - thought that would be the end of it. They have pretty much admitted that they wanted to sit on it, make it uncomfortable and ultimately get the bid to sod off. Oh dear.
