Yeah noticed that especially in the second half - hunting in packs and high up the pitch

Is there ever a quick fix though? The thing that's been going through my mind is what has changed? Yeah we haven't been playing great in the last few games but they still got stuck in and fought to get a result - there was none of that last night. All I can assume is something has happened behind the scenes

first there was the draw then a slim win we could have lost save for a Geady wonder goal free kick, then on to this latest game, which has dropped all our heads down when we were riding so high i was as confident as hell that there but for a couple of wins we would be top

I am looking on the bright side of things here, only a matter of months ago petulant Donald was still running the show, absolutely zero chance of getting out of this league. Now though, still in with a chance, an enthusiastic young owner, the future is bright, if we don't make it this time, we'll be on the rampage next season, hopefully with huge followings home and away.

I dont think it is something LJ can influence too much. It is desire and intensity and that isnt somethinh that can be coached, at least not in a week. Players are solely responsible for last night in my opinion and they need to sort themselves out. Time for some leaders to come through and I mean those that lead by example more than those that are vocal.

Yes, I noticed that. I have also said for a couple of seasons, when we make a mistake it more than not ends up in a goal, when the opposition make mistakes we are generally not good enough to take advantage of them.

good post mate we all know the players we have will not be there if we go up save a few, the money they are on here will not be improved by other teams as covid at this level has decimated transfer fees, so i would have thought they would be playing out of their skins to get there.

Very true mate. We have a really smart manager and what looks to be a good coaching setup now. I feel confident players are given every chance to play at their best on matchday, but when they are on the pitch they need to take responsibility for their own performance and that of their teammates.

We should have pissed the league in Jack Ross’ first season. There’s only so much an owner can do at this level. If fans aren’t back In August I think English football as we know it will change forever, and the EFL will break up into a league of teams who can afford to compete and those who can’t, so hopefully new owner rich enough to stop us dwindling into total indefinite obscurity, so certainly that side of things is more rosy than when Donald was running the show.

Because each year it will get harder and we are then further away from having any kind of successful team in our lifetimes. We also won’t have McGeady next season, or if we do he will be even older. We will almost certainly have an even worse team too.

On what basis? If clubs couldn't afford to carry on, they would have pulled out of fixtures already, as Dover Athletic have done in the National League. There is also the option of mothballing the league until crowds can come back, as has been done at non-league Step 3 and down.

i thought i read a while ago Norton that the EFL had made payments to the clubs to help keep them afloat ,to go along with the match streaming, however you are more knowledgeable than me about this so i stand to be corrected, I would assume however that teams with little fans will go out of business, as even if fans are allowed back a lot will have be made redundant due to covid and would not be able to attend.

This season has been financed off the back of loans from the premier league to EFL, grants from the government and furloughing not needed staff. It’s not sustainable. Though it’s a position which could actually benefit us a club and we get ‘promoted’ by default as we are capable of funding a season without fans.

The Premier League, I believe, are in a position to continue to support the EFL. That was always the way under the 'old system. Its not ideal in the longer term but there's no reason why August needs to be some kind of cut off point.

No, you may be right Rog. My assumptions are mainly based on what's happened at non-league level. Wasn't accepting the payments optional?
