They're bottom of all four divisions. Man City are top of all four. I was going for the most extreme comparison within the parameters of current professional English football.
Fortunately I was working late so I'm glad I didn't pay to follow the match tonight. Absolute capitulation from the team and lack of response from the coaching team.
I’m far too ignorant to know stuff like that. I’m only really interested in the positions between 8th and 18th in the Championship. That’s where all the excitement, talent and quality in English football resides. I just feel privileged to follow a club which seems set to stay in this zone for ****ing perpetuity.
I'm only aware of Grimsby's predicament due to an article that I read about Holloway recently. ( I think it was a post/thread on here that I didn't respond to. The Rod Liddle one? I can't stand the odious man.) You call it perpetuity, I call it purgatory.
There's a reason why they are in that position. Have you ever been there? I have . Let's just say it's Ok. Ish. If you like that sort of place. The sort of town which is so depressing as you even approach it that you might wonder if your boss was playing a cruel trick sending you there. Apart from that it's great. It'si definitely no1 in my list of places never to go to again.
I'm not usually one for taking joy at the cost of others .. . Schadenfreude ... On the upside tonight, if there could ever be one. Is that it would've been nice to be a fly on the wall in MRCC ( Mark Robin's Coventry City ) and WRDC living room watching us go one nil up, and then watching them as we capitulated. The tantrums and hollering would be probably ten pounds better spent on that than watching our stream. Imagine us watching the game if we were in their predicament I think we might've done the league a favour.
I've been there three times. The best that I can come up with is, that it's by the sea. Cheap housing also, so I believe. Some of the cheapest ( if that's possible? ) in the country.
We did not play brilliantly, but after taking the lead at 0-1 we should have been able to “shut-up the shop” and play for an ugly win. We didn't (or couldn’t) and as correctly stated above, and we capitulised. . Rather embarrassing for the R’s, but great for Rotherham. I now really wish that they will say up.
So tomorrow night are we all going to be Rotherham fans for one night only? Might have to do a Match Day Thread.....
There's so much wrong about this photograph from a QPR perspective on Rotherham's third goal ... please log in to view this image
