I think the key word there is " partially". Still it's a straw for Brexiteers to clutch at. Although it probably won't help a drowning man.

 

However, the Office for National Statistics said exports were still below last year's levels and imports from the EU had seen a weaker recovery.

Other figures from the ONS showed the UK economy grew by 0.4% in February.

The UK's statistics body said the economy was still 7.8% smaller than a year earlier, before the impact of the pandemic.

Do you believe that Brexit has a greater detrimental effect on the UK economy than the PANDEMIC and subsequent lockdowns ?

 

No, but the pandemic isn't the only reason why the economy is ****ed.

 

So you are saying Brexit has destroyed the economy on an equal measure or a tiny fraction compared to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns ?

It's impossible to untangle the effects of both on the economy. The pandemic didn't affect trade, we ****ed that up on our own. It didn't affect the banking sector, that's another Brexit bonus. Etc...

Most people have been working during lockdowns. Retail, hospitality and travel sectors have taken a big hit, but they're not what props up the economy.
