HA'WWWWAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM After being desperately pìssed off about the result at Charlton, and it would be them ffs I've picked meself up again. Never thought we would win them all but the top two winning made it worse. The way we've gone off the boil lately has me worried against Blackpool and Hull now, but... this could be the kick up the arse we needed, and as O'nien pointed out. "It still is in our hands". Two games in hand and Hull to play, 8 points adrift. Its a big ask but hopefully we come out of this and rip it up. We could have at least got something from Charlton. Wykes first chances missed. Two or three not on their game. Earlier subs ? Their goalie played well. We had more possession and chances. We've got to be more positive and stay focused. It was one of those days. If we can come out of this heads high and fighting it's still all to play for. Come on lads, do us proud .
Peterborough do change their team. https://uk.soccerway.com/teams/england/peterborough-united-fc/721/ As you can see from this, they've used three different formations in the last few games and rotated their forwards. They tend to keep things the same at the back though.
I hate hearing that. The press say it EVERY game!! “Oh poor Liverpool having played so many games and not getting their own way”!!! Sorry! Not a dig at you per say but they’ve had very similar amount of injuries to SAFC and played about as many games. Yet we managed! We had to just without the press on at us. If anyone says “premier league is more intense “ then I think I might flip my lid!! Half of them wouldn’t last 5 minutes against a league 1 defence!!
I watched quite a lot of the Spuds v Manure game yesterday, frankly either set of forwards, (Kane, Cavani etc) with their pace, strength and technical ability would tear L1 and Championship back fours apart. IMHO of course, not that they wouldn't clog them now and again, depending on how the ref/VAR (very silly foul given to Son yesterday) is how long defenders would be on the pitch.
Can’t see Winchester starting mind, I think he was one of the players being carried in the last match as LJ put it. I’d start McLaughlin and move Power into midfield. I would also like to see Maguire at least on the bench. He can change a game with a moment of magic if we are desperate. (Not that I think we will be) 2-0 us
Oh the big lads yeah. But Mane, Son, Salah wouldn’t last 5 minutes on this league with the refs and the defenders they’re up against. They’d be crying to mammy in no time!
Salah!!! Would score 50 goals, if he was given the ball anywhere the goal, he leaves international defenders sitting on their arses... the other two not so many. Rashford and Greenwood are fairly good too... On another related topic, is Kane leaving the Spuds to go Man, U or Chitty or is Haarland incoming?
Just think Salah would get booted to hell!! Undoubtedly a great striker but soft as ****!! Haaland I reckon personally fir City
Not sure what he did wrong. They hardly created a chance without fouling a player or getting extremely lucky. They scored twice but created little else. And those two were as a result of large slices of luck
ignoring the 'poor liverpool press' it has obviously hurt them and i feel it has hurt us...in all honesty i might also be a million miles off the truth i just think a solid back line, one that knows how the rest will act and that they have a solid 'keeper behind them is the basis for any team hoping to win promotion. obviously we have had to grit our teeth and get on with it due to the injuries we have had ourselves, the lads who have basically been thrown in have done an excellent good job...i just know i would feel a damn sight happier going into the remaining games if we could get defenders in defence. (no dig taken mate, i understand your point and agree)
I'd rather we sneaked a win tomorrow and left the statement performance for Blackpool on Saturday. Six points this week and we'll be right back in it. Brilliant post again RTB. Stats show they are very weak at defending on the wings - Fill ya boots Jones and McGeady. 0-2 and sweet revenge for earlier in the season.
