I looked back to the last meeting and re-read the story of the fluke goal saying we owed them revenge. We went on to rather unluckily lose the first meeting 1 - 0 so it is obvious we still owe them for the fluky goal back in history. This is the game to exact the revenge. It is so difficult to predict which Argyle will turn up on the day but if these players have anything about them they will want to put the last game to bed and show what they can really do.

With only about seven players in contract after this seasons ending....this would be a good time to gain Ryan Lowe's attention with a good performance against high flying Hull........of course some of these players will be trying to impress their own clubs....Opoku, Fornah, Watts, Lewis and Woods.

Lowe has some serious recruiting to do replace these four defenders and a midfielder for next season.....even then our goals against column is nearly reaching 70 goals.....13 more than our goals scored ?

So no Connor Grant then. Do we know why?

Interestingly, Argyle were out VERY early to warm up: at around 10 past 2, 15 minutes before Hull. Riot Act being read?

    0-1...H/T....Lewis-Potter 11 mins.

Early goal for Hull....but a reasonable even half.

Not sure about the Ref....a ridicules yellow card early on against Argyle....similar offences by Hull go unpunished.....not getting many 50/50 balls.

Will we play better in the second half....or is it down hill from here.

Eight away teams winning at half-time.....NO home teams winning ?....very strange.

I thought the game was being excellently refereed. By the Hull No 7.

    0-3...F/T.....Lewis-Potter...11mins...McGennis...58mins...Docherty...75mins.

Regulation away win saunter....no leadership on the pitch or off the pitch.....major changes needed next season.

    I'm struggling to choose between
    • Abysmal
    • Awful
    • Clueless
    • Embarrassing
    • Gutless
    • Incompetent
    • Limp
    • Pathetic
    • Second rate
    • Toothless
    • Useless
    • Weak
I've eliminated Shocking as it wasn't really a surprise.

Aimson is my MotM as he was the only one out there.

Admittedly the second goal should have been a foul on Opoku and would have been 99 times out of 100 but he shouldn't have got in that position in the first place.

The third was offside with a player, their No 27, right in Cooper's line of sight.

But the rest just wasn't good enough. Despite being a whining bunch who dominated a weak ref, they were much better in every department. All the loanees can go and we need to start again.

I can see why I predicted an away win....but I underestimated by one goal....and only a minute out with the first goal time.

ONLY ONE home win....Fleetwood......28 away goals scored.....<yikes>...:emoticon-0104-surpr.

I see no future for Lowe....he just stands there leaning against the dug-out.....just waiting for the inevitable.... He has no answer to the questions set.....and so we have no leadership on the touchline....and certainly no one with leadership authority on the pitch.

Tried to listen to Ryan Lowe's post match interview....luckily the recording had poor quality so you couldn't hear too much of his comments which was probably a bonus.....he seemed to be not too positive....and it sounded as if he was saying that he needed a team of men like Hull have.....was he suggesting that he had a team of boys in comparison.....personally I feel some of them would prefer to play somewhere else next season anyway.....so a lot of hard work in the summer to get a team that can be better than this lot....I still not sure if Lowe should be given the opportunity to be still here from recent happenings.

Today we played the league champions. This was the best side by a Country mile we have played so far. They have Championship players right across the park and it showed. Whilst not good score wise at home it was not because we were terrible but because they were very very good. Don't think many sides would live with them for the rest of this season at least. Todays results show just how wide a gap there is between the few and most of the rest. I truly do not think we should read too much into today's game.

You are right Sensible but as you know, we are capable of so much more and it is very, very frustrating to see us throw it away week after week with daft errors. We can play decent football but not from 1-0 down (or worse) every single time and it's obviously eroded confidence in a big way.

The Ref yesterday allowed a quick free kick for them and they scored. We took one a while later and he pulled it back. Funny that. He booked Watts for a nothing challenge and talked to one of theirs for the same offence. Funny that. It was winding up some of our players in particular Mayor for one and even Edwards seemed to be getting a bit hacked off. Calm heads required but the Ref sort of helped that not to be the case. I said he wasn't the reason we lost because them being very very good was enough. We didn't really make that many errors in the game. They just passed it around us or through us and moved into spaces. We couldn't really cope. Just an excellent team is what we faced.

I think we have been sussed a bit with the passing it around at the back now. Other teams know we are going to and just close us down very quickly. There is always an error waiting to happen at this level when you don't just clear the lines. I suppose it depends what sort of football you want. They more or less had Mayor tagged yesterday which also stopped a lot. There is nobody else to make things happen if he is marked out of the game for long spells. We lack a couple of generals which is where plym is right even if I don't go along with all the rest of the doom. I think there is not a lot wrong with most of the players we have so if theyh all got offered a contract I wouldn't be that upset. But we need more experience at the back and not all young loanees. Lowe said it was a learning curve this season. Well give him the benefit of the doubt and see if he does learn anything. The same collapsing next season will be far less acceptable I think.

Any idea that Lowe should go is nonsense as far as I'm concerned. He's working within a budget and seems happy with that concept. Hopefully next season, the turnstiles will be open and the hospitality suite will be doing business instead of vaccinations. It isn't reasonable to expect Simon Hallett to put yet more money in, in fact you might think he'd want to get back the money he put in to fill the Covid hole in the finances, which couldn't have been something he'd planned on, but nevertheless, perhaps there'll be a bit more to spend.

If Lowe is still here next season I can see no other outcome than a repeat of this season....or even worse.

He will play the same system and we will still leak goals.....and our strikers will be starved of scoring opportunities.

Jephcott has not looked remotely like scoring for fifteen games now... and Lowe has no idea how to change things...Ennis has now reverted to the same as Hardie...looking for the sniff of a scoring chance from a midfield that are weekly outgunned by the opposition.

The team is to blame so we are told by Lowe.....calling them mere boys against men...so Lowe is condemning himself and his tactics....who wants to play for a leader with those views.

We have too many loan players in key positions....they will not be marching the extra mile for the club....they have clubs to return to at the end of the season......we have been used as a nursery school for bigger clubs to bring along there youngsters....who will sell them on for a profit.

Most of that is Pasoti nonsense which I've read on there for weeks now. There is no evidence yet that we will employ another set of boys as a defence for starters. The charge that we will leak goals is another guess and no more. Lowe is right in that it has been men against boys a lot of the time and numerous results bear that out. It is not his tactics that he is calling into question it is the experience of the players he has. Argyle have ALWAYS had loan players from higher clubs. All clubs have them and are nursery schools for the bigger boys. We have done that to lower clubs ourselves. Absolutely nothing new so to suggest Lowe is to blame for the practice is plain stupid. A more experienced tighter defence allows the midfield to move forward and concentrate on midfielding and then to produce better service to the front players. So, Argyle's main problem this season has been the defenders and that can be fixed in the closed season. The style of play has been laid out for all to see throughout. It is nothing new and we have been told the whole club has been set up to play the same way from top to bottom and will not change. The Chairman has openly said that is what he wants and expects. Lowe is carrying out his Bosses orders. If you are going to blame him then by the virtue of the orders you have to point at Hallett as well or even more so. The trouble with supporters in the main is they only see what they want to see and the bigger picture is never considered.
