Well, where did that come from Hideki Matsuyama...?? Coasting along -1 under through the front nine, -6 under for the back nine, exceptional golf son, hats off to you, well played...!!

His 4 shot lead over the chasing pack will take some pegging back but with this course owt can happen. As it happens he will have to play well as he has 4x players sat 4 shots back, Schauffle, Leishman, Rose & Zalatoris which makes for an interesting nights watch tonight...

Off the top 5 players on the leader board Matsy is -9 under for his 3 rounds on the par 5's, Xander -8 under, Leishman & Rose both -7 and Zalatoris just the -5. I wouldn't mind but Matsy parred 3x of the 5 shot holes yesterday, though he did eagle the 15th, it just makes his round even more remarkable to shoot what he did... Leishman for instance, is -7 for his last two rounds of par 5's after parring all 4 of them in his 1st round, so he's still in the hunt for me... Xander had a bit of a field day for his 3rd round taking them at -5 under with 3x birdies and an eagle, Rose unfortunately has only taken 3 shots from his last two rounds on the par 5's so he really needs to up his game on them or the rest of them will sail away from him and the chance of that Green Jacket on his shoulders... The same can be said for Zalatoris where he is the only one of these five players to actually drop a shot on any of the par 5's coming at the 15th yesterday...

The Masters has delivered once again for it's drama, shots and action. I can't wait...<ok>

Its certainly not over yet is it and I have had a fantastic run for my money with Rose. I hope he and your couple of outsiders hang in there for at least some decent prize money.
Without Matsuyama the players really in with a chance would surely go down as far as maybe level par??? Some fancy odds on decent players that would come into the reckoning and you just know that one of the earlier starters is going to shoot a 66 and fly up the leaderboard. Justin Thomas at -1 (250/1) and Tony Finau -3 (150/1) are two such players capable of going low and posting a score that could see them in a share of a bigger pot.
Great tournament as always and plenty of drama left.

Did i say that debutants dont do well here...?? Zalatoris may repeat Fuzzy Zellors feat back in 79 here, the last time someone won the Maters on his first visit...

Bit to go but Xander n Matsy are showing signs of letting it slip here...

i have really enjoyed the Masters this week but this has to be the worst final round that I have ever watched.
it is little more than a procession for Matsuyama. A deserved winner though.

Shuffleplay with a huge error, a par may have saw him go on and win there with the momentum he had, must be kicking himself, Matsuyama sticking to the normal game plan but may have been better off playing a little more cautiously, albeit he got away with 6 on 15 there, when 7 or 8 was possible. Zalatoris has been a breath of fresh air and that putt on 18 was nerves of steel. Justin Rose must be hugely disappointed as well, - 7 on Thursday and his batteries went flat for 3 days then.

Left it last night with Matsy dropping a shot at the par 3 12th hole which left him 5 shots clear, no drama, he'll p1ss it and win by 4... Ok, it was one but it was a well deserved win for the lad... The two to take out of the final result will be Zalatoris & Shcauffelle as both showed some nerve and some balls when at one stage it looked like they wouldn't get anything near the end... Zalatoris putting went to pieces and Xander shot himself in the foot when going bogey, bogey double at the start of his round to fight back to gain 6 shots back before really throwing it with a water visit on the 16th...

As for my picks, Reed got back to 8th as did Connors. Harman just missed out on top 10 finishing 12th with my last minute 100/1 shot Mark Leishman gaining a well earned return when finishing 5th...

Happy days all round, and well done to us all who managed to get a return...<ok> <cheers?
