We can use this article as the match thread which is why I am pulling it back up. <ok>

You can't 'sticky' when it is posted across more than one board, as this is also on the NUFC board that option is not there. <ok>

It seems like an age, since Spurs played.

I've got a good feeling about Sunday's game against Newcastle, even though they've had a great unbeaten start to the season.

Thankfully, Spurs have come through the international break with no new injury concerns, so we should be able to put-out a very strong team.

Remember that Spurs have won the last eight consecutive Premier League matches in which Ledley King has started, so if he's in the team, we're almost home and dry!

SSN last night reports that Ade and VdV may not be fit to start, both with hamstring injuries I think.

    that being the case, and assuming Lennon is now up to speed this is my starting line up;

    Brad
    Walker--King--Kaboul--Benny
    Sandro-Parker
    Lennon---Modders---Bale
    Defoe

Sandro pulled out of Brazil squad so hopefully he is fit as I think this area of the park will be key against the Toon with Tiote & Cabaye in the middle for them. With a fit Parker and Sandro I believe we will have the edge, not too sure about Defoe up front on his own but needs must if Ade is out.....

The potential loss of VDV and Adebayor puts me at ease somewhat. You still have Modric though and I do rate Defoe highly. Unlike most people, I do not rate Bale that much and suspect we can contain him but you have some class oozing throughout your squad. This will be a good test for us to see how far we really have come!

At this point, nobody, apart from a few **** fringe players who wouldn't get anywhere near our starting 11.

Ba and Cabaye both had niggles, but Cabaye played in the last France game just fine and apparently Ba didn't play for Senegal just as a precaution because the pitch was incredibly hard and dangerous for his knee. Either way, so far, they both seem good to go for Sunday.

Basically, we have two selection dilemmas:

1). Do we put Santon in for Ryan Taylor at left back to deal with your winger threat?

2). Do we introduce Ben Arfa behind Ba to add more strength to the midfield, or do we stick with 4-4-2 and a Best/Ba strikeforce?

Personally I'm hoping that Santon comes in, and I'm hoping that HBA is introduced, as I think a midfield trio of Cabaye, Tiote and Ben Arfa should be a match for your strong midfield which could otherwise overpower us.

VDV and Adebayor are reported as doubts, whilst Sandro was pulled out of the Brazil squad.

Might be nothing in it, but I'd certainly call those concerns at the moment!

None of our starters are injured, and some quality players on the bench waiting to play (Santon, Ben Arfa, Marveaux).

6061, Charlie and Niko both got injured for Croatia, Sandro was withdrawn from the Brazil squad, VDV has a hammy and apparently Adebayor has a niggle. Not sure where Lennon and Pienaar are at either. Walker might not play if his missus goes into labour too <yikes>

We could end up with all of them available, I guess we'll have to wait for 'Arry's press conference tomorrow/Saturday.

Without them and the certain absenties of Gallas, Dawson and Tommy we could still field:

    Friedel
    Kaboul King Bassong Benny
    Bale Parker Modric Townsend
    Pav Defoe

I'd definitely take a draw with that side but it's a surprisingly good team considering we'd have 11 players out. Surely our luck can't be that bad with injuries though?

King and Bassong in the centre looks quite solid actually and Youness Kaboul has always been under rated too... Kaboul is a decent defender and quality in the air but can be good with the ball at his feet too but at right back he can be exploited with his dodgy positioning when at right back. I hope Sandro doesn't make this game either because he's also worth his weight in gold.

I think most are just niggles and we will be able to put out a pretty strong team for sunday. Can't wait - I hate international breaks!!

Newcastle United host Tottenham Hotspur for an 8th round Premier League match on Saturday 15th October 2011.

60/61 doesn't make many mistakes but isn't this game on Sunday the 16th?

Would really like to see Townsend play. In his second half performance against Shamrock, he really looked up for it

The quote in your sig is a typical piece of Benny honesty. Why do you you feel the need to make it a signature?
