Done it, not that particular training course but the same thing. Part of the course was role play where you had to have a difficult conversation with one of your reports who suffered from personal hygiene issues. What this showed is that you cannot train someone to have those conversations as there is no “one size, fits all” solution. As I have repeatedly said you can’t train empathy, compassion, common sense or a set of moral standards.
We had that exact issue with one of our employees. Young girl with chronic BO. I delegated the job of telling her to her departmental manager. He just bought a can of deodorant and left it on her desk. Agree though you cant train these things. Problem I have with a lot of management training courses is that they are one size fits all and what works for a major multinational doesn't necessarily work for a small firm. Learning the rules (employment, HSE etc) doesn’t need training courses - just an ability to read, digest and the sense to figure out how it applies to you and your staff.
Mornin Pinkz gonna freshen up...grade 1 n ting Pick the eldest up...lunch...walk in the moors get back for game/cook(maybe) probably back to barbers by half 6
Sounds good. You got any old rocks n shiz up on those moors ? Also got a potential appt at the Barber's later. Anytime from 7pm if needed.
Exactly this. I have no issue with training, as long as it adds value. Train me in the use of tools which provide for better time management, advanced use (or even basic) of software packages etc., but I don’t need training on how to treat someone with respect, being able to say good morning or ticking a corporate box.
Cool, yeah post up some pics Sunday roast round at my old dear's today. Will probs play floor is Lava with my little un for most of the afternoon as that's her thing atm Might try and get a ride out up onto the moors here later. Feels like a fkin waste of time watching Arsenal atm, but I'll probs watch it anyway.
