    Afternoon fellas <ok>

Just the one bet today due to miserable form - Farclas in the national.

Hopefully My Drogo can put in a nice performance here and Jay Bee Why at a nice e/w price

Great ride from TOB, yet another fail from Rachel for me - despite all her success, it's never when I'm relying on her <doh>

Warming up for the National now...I can't wait to see Bristol de Mai over the national fences. If he wins it I will be in heaven. I love this horse and a flying grey with top weight winning it really would be magical...

Ran well to finish third. Now will sit back and watch the Grand National later. Gun pointed to my loaf, then Cloth Cap!

I haven't lumped on a short priced National runner since Rough Quest. The "better than sex" for Mick Fitzgerald happened at 7/1, so is Cloth Cap going to make the earth move for punters at 11/2?

Rough Quest had been 2nd in the Gold Cup and was running off a mark of 152 in the National, so he seemed well in after the performance at Cheltenham. If anything Cloth Cap holds better credentials than Rough Quest, based on a third in the Scottish National, when it seemed like further would have helped. It's hard to get away from him today. Of course there are fences to negotiate but they are not what they were and a win only bet seemed appropriate.

Of the others I liked Burrows Saint but don't like the odds. Kimberlite Candy should enjoy being back at this trip and was an each-way for me. Sub Lieutenant used to be better than he is now and has come down to an appealing mark. He ran OK last time, running as if a bit more of a test might suit. Once rated 162 he is now down to 146 and he was runner-up in the Topham a couple of years ago. Hopefully he gives Tabitha Worsley a decent day out.

    Cloth Cap 11/2 win only.

    Kimberlite Candy 20/1 each-way

    Sub Lieutenant 66/1 each-way

    Good luck to all.
