    I agree tbh.

These events are now turning into 'how many different ways can we say exactly the same thing'.

He was a 99 year old fella who lived through the war, Covid, various illnesses and car crashes ...

... his achievements are admirable but expected.

RIP but there's not much else to say imo.

I do wonder if we'll end up getting more on the truth, or at least the other side of the story, once Liz goes.

I find it very difficult to believe a lot of Meghan's story. The last thing the royal family would have wanted is the PR disaster of another Diana on their hands.

With reference to Meghan I think this.....

She was asked as an adopted Royal to choose a football team to support. She chose the Skunks. This offended HRH Prince William as an Aston Villa fan and the rest of the Royals as devoted Mackem fans, especially Lizzie. She was then ousted and deported to North America where she could be as deluded as "wor cuzins up the road like" and smack horses whenever she wanted, and was forever banished from the fairytale kingdom of Queen Meghan and her delusions

    Love me

Some very different versions of the story are already leaking out. See what Lady Colin Campbell has said about it.

Well ahead of his time. I am just finding out about how he promoted British engineering and how he warned the world about the looming environmental catastrophe in the 60’s. It’s a shame that his achievement’s were not more widely publicised, instead of the supposed gaffs that the media pounced on..
A war hero to boot. R.I.P. Sir.

Disappointing to see a couple of people trying to ruin this thread mind. If you’ve got nothing respectful to say, then just say nothing. Not going to mention names, but they know who they are.

If you followed that rule you'd only have two or three posts a month ...

... even in this post you're slagging people off, what a hypocrite.

You were hoping a player was crippled earlier on this evening <doh>

Yesterday bbc 1, bbc 2 and the bbc news channel all showing the same thing. Sure its big , but i for one think they have gone way way overboard.
Whatever will they do when it happens to the Queen.

I have to confess i saw very little of it..busy binge watching Justified on Netflix..

Presumably his screwing around when he was younger and when he was old, his racist and sexist comments were made much of?

FB_IMG_1618047529069.jpg I love this photo of The Queen and Prince Phillip, he had decided to prank her by dressing as a guard when she was returning to Buckingham Palace. Look at that cheeky smile on the Queens face

I watched all of the coverage from the moment the news broke until midnight. Wouldn't want to miss out on a momentous historical event.
Yes, his "glamorous companions" and controversial comments were mentioned repeatedly. But that's what happens when you give a balanced view of something.
