I'm sure that's the case, though his major problem was failure on the pitch (and failed player/manager appointments), rather than deliberately going out of his way to piss everyone off.

A failed manager and player situation aka bad appointments would seriously piss me off. But I'm old fashioned.

Mistakes I can forgive. A decade (and still counting) of deliberate ****ish behaviour I can't. Call me old fashioned.

What’s been deliberate in the last few years?

I can take another decade of '****ish behaviour' if we see Premier League football in Hull again, an FA Cup Final or two, couple of trips to Europe, League Cup semi final thrown in, all of which will be better then the couple of decades and more from the mid 70's onwards when the only appearance we were making were in front of a Judge with our fingers crossed behind our backs, yeah call me old fashioned but I remember those days as though they were yesterday. How would you describe those days by the way ?

Let's not forget, IF and it's a big if.... If we are sold and the new owner takes us on in the champ ( hopefully ) and debt free ( which looks highly likely ) with a promising young squad with great potential, a low wage bill, no huge outstanding transfer fee instalments due out of the club and a self sufficient club. You could say ( controversially to some and no matter what they won't admit it ) that the allams leave us in a better position then when they took over.

As long as you ignore the fact that we've barely got any supporters left.

One thing's for sure, they day they leave, we'll be in a better place than we were the day before.

It's very difficult to measure our level of support given the pandemic we are still in and the restrictions due to it.But I'd hazard a guess that due to our League position there'd be a lot more than there was at the beginning of this season.

The up and coming game against Sunderland would draw a huge crowd because we have a serious chance of getting out of this League at the first attempt.

Apparently they will all come back the second allam leaves....or so they say! Plus let's not ignore the fact lots will flock back if and when we start challenging for a return for the prem. Just as crowds would have grown again this season because we are doing well ( if crowds would have been allowed in )

I know your not allam fans and neither am I just for the record, but even you must be able to see when you look at facts and logic and take out the anti allam view of absolutely everything, we would be as a club when they leave us in a better position then when they bought us.

And on your second point, yes we probably would be in a better position then the day before, but the same was said about the day the allams took over and look what happened

Just for the record,I'm no fan of the Allams either. The name change, the badge, the relegation and several other bones of contention have been chewed over and spat out by me.

But what they will never do is drive a wedge between me and my support for a Club I've supported for almost 52 years.

Some so called City fans have used the Allams as a convenient and pathetic excuse for their dislike of lower league football.

I don't expect the stadium to be full the minute the Allams leave, but I fully expect it to stay empty while they remain in charge.

If they leave with us debt free in the Championship, I'll happily agree that they've left us in a better position than they found us, at least from a financial point of view.

But I've been waiting seven years for that to happen and I don't see us being any closer to it than we were in April 2014.

I don't see the two as mutually exclusive, I can hate the owners while still supporting the club, I always have.

I cancelled my corporate memberships, as I thought the ungrateful twerps didn't deserve so much of my hard-earned (a mate and I had five corporate seats together, which we'd paid £100k for in the previous 16 years), but I carried on going to all home games and about a third of aways.

I cancelled my membership for this season, as we can't go and I've no interest in the tat from the shop, but I'm still paying to watch the games.

I think that it would be a good thing for the club if the Allams sold up. There has been many smoke screens back and forth that Im not sure any more how it sunk to last years level of attendances and miserable run in to the end of the season. Fair play to this years efforts and a genuine chance of going back into the championship.
Re funding of the club during the Allam years, yes they certainly bailed us out. Not sure if there would of been another buyer so who knows what else would of happened. They have treated the supporters poorly on occasion. They have run it as a business but not a football club loved by its customers.
When it comes to cash they have laid out on players let’s not forget they have had the fortunate position of sky tv bankrolling the club to half a billion pounds.
I would hope this thread will be closed by this time next year.

    I wasn't being judgemental,each to their own.

Every single one of us should be entitled to our opinions and I respect any individual who comes on here and offers up reasonable debate as to why or why not they like or dislike the way the Club is run.I've made plain on numerous occasions that I want to see the Club and it's fan base reunited and pointed to this year and first time promotion being key to hopefully enticing a new owner.

We're all singing but we're not yet doing it from the same songsheet.

I do hope they **** off soon.

It’s a nightmare having to keep checking this thread for photos of someone I’ve never heard of holding a City scarf aloft...

If we got back to the top end of the champ or the prem, however unlikely that is...the fans would return even with the allams in charge, just look at the Chelsea game.

We have all been waiting, let's just hope this time the wait is over

Yes, that's the impression I got from having spoken to dozens of Ipswich fans (and I am not claiming they represent ALL Ipswich fans).Whilst they were obviously disappointed with results they didn't seem to have the feeling they were disconnected from the club or being deliberately pissed off. Despite their disappointment (relegation wise and subsequent results since then) they seemed quite optimistic about their future. Although less popular than he once was there didn't appear to be any hatred towards the owner - maybe just maybe because the fans felt they were valued, respected and not treated with contempt.
