No complaints. We could of kept possession a little better, but the gulf between the 2 sides was there for all to see. I thought Fofana and Perez were our 2 stand out players, nobody had a shocker and as stated above, dust ourselves down and go and beat West Ham next week.
It felt like the Liverpool home game where we couldn’t get a kick and were completely dominated on balance of play, sadly a combination of no Barnes who is key to playing on the break and the fact Man City were never going to self destruct and let us back in the game like Liverpool did meant the first goal was always going to be game over. Liverpool winning last night was bad for us..
Congratulations to the ladies who have been promoted to the Premier League following their 2-0 victory over London.
Today's victory was their 12th straight win. 18 games played 15 won. A great time to get into the Women's Super League as all matches televised next season on Sky and BBC. Great for the profile of the club to have a successful Women's team. Congratulations ladies
Marc Albrighton taking some right pelters from some fans. He did have a very poor game, passing was abject and he fell for just about any dummy that Citeh players made ... but fans can be too harsh. He is most often dependable, if not spectacular and we really needed a JJ or a Cags or a fully fit Ricky in that formation for best effect. Personally, I blame the stoopid ****in' Turks for throwing a Covid spanner in the works
Just watching Slavia Prague play Arsenal, as I was really impressed with them at the KP. Povod and Sima look like two real players. Not a clue to their value but they seem as though they would offer something to a Prem team. Now watch resenal go and hit six. PS Leave Marc Albrighton the **** alone - he is one of our legends. Edit - Dont think Sima touched the ball since I posted originally and ended up being subbed. Sod Pepe!
Not that I want Slavia to do well purely because of their antics in our tie but that away goal is useful as if they could see off Arsenal in the second next week it removes the chance that both European competitions are won by English teams who don’t finish top 4 making 4th Europa. Unless Man Utd collapse of course but that isn’t happening.
Yeah I’m not a ‘support English teams in Europe& person. That said, if Arsenal go out and close the option of 4th place losing out, it may be a good thing for us if Liverpool and Chelsea stay in the CL so they have other distractions...
Apparently Morgan, Barnes, Perez, Choudhury and Maddison attended a COVID party. If this is true, every single one of them have let the club and fans down.
What’s a Covid party exactly? Are they attending hoping to catch it or to celebrate not having it? At this point of the season it’s unbelievable, if true.
Looks like their heads have gone again as per last season. Soyuncu with COVID, players out breaching COVID rules, didn’t look interested last week and rolled over again today. 5th and Europa League would be a great achievement right now. Top 4 not looking likely with Liverpool picking up form and Chelsea you’d expect to pick up plenty of points, not to mention West Ham
Confirmed that Maddison, Perez and Choudhury among others breached Covid regulations. How irresponsible is that? Before as big a game as we’ve had all season they gave Rodgers no choice but to drop them. Obviously not in touch with real life.
At least one thing went right with Man Utd beating Spurs! Think 5th or 6th would be ok now tbh. Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham are all better sides in better form than us. We should have enough to keep ahead of Spurs with them having only gained one point on us in the last two games. As for the COVID breachers, Perez and Choudhury shouldn’t be near the team again this season at least, they are liabilities on the pitch anyway. Maddison keep him out for a few more games to really put any chances of him going to the Euros to bed. More disappointed at Morgan who’s the club captain attending this party and Barnes as he really does need to be back in the side but should also be taught a lesson about responsibility...
Yup ... the ****ers that are fit to play now owe the club and us, the fans ... starting with the FA Cup semi ... hopefully Cags back too... Luke Thomas made a big difference today and Castagne is much better on the right ... Ricky pushed further forward also gave us much better balance and options ...
In regards to the game, the change in formation worked wonders. Thomas doesn't look out of place at all but with Cags back the back three is our best option at least until Justin is back. In regard to the idiots who attended the gathering I cant imagine what part of them thought it would be a good idea to attend. Injured players and those out of the squad wouldn't be so bad but fit first teamers is criminal. They have let every supporter down.
