Annie Mc, who had been as low as 7/1 for the Mares Chase, won't now be running. Elimay shortened into a best priced 6/4 as a result.
Put these on today... Guard Your Dreams, Coral @ 16/1 Sully D'oc Aa, PadPow Plate @ 25/1 Fire Attack, Martin Pipe @ 16/1
The Coral Cup isn't a race in which I would normally show an interest. But this year is different as there is one in this that could be thrown in at the weights and could be a Mullins plot Blue Sari is 16/1 with Lads & Corals 2 years ago at this meeting he pushed Envoi Allen all the way to the line in the Bumper. After a 248 day break he followed up with a debut win over hurdles at Punchestown carrying 11.7. 3 fruitless runs at Leopardstown since but returns here carrying just 10 stone and wears a tongue strap for the first time
So unlucky. Made smooth progress through the field and came to challenge the leader when fell at the last. Had no chance with the winner but unlucky not to be placed. Ran a cracker of a race
A really pleasant and unexpected surprise. I had bet (and I put it in this thread on August 1st, my first early bet) on Captain Guinness 20/1e/w and three months later 25/1e/w for the Arkle. Evidently on those dates the places were three. On Tuesday only seven horses ran and so there were two. CG was third and I thought they were not going to pay me because they have done it that way before. I know that they have to respect the conditions of the day the bet is placed but other times it has not been like that and I have had to fight (often without success) to get paid. This time it has not been like that and I have found myself with unexpected but legitimate money because I was entitled to it.
Looking forward to seeing how Espoir De Romay gets on in the Grade 1 at Aintree tomorrow, currently 15-2
