    ... anyone?

I'm sure we've all had our moments of doubt, or periods of apathy, and that's totally understandable.

But, I'd like to ask, how many have had a genuine change and now believe.

Not a big deal, or an inquest, just an honest question.

Yes I believe. The whole club, top down, is on a completely different trajectory now. Much to be done but the foundations are being laid.

Yep, I’ve definitely got a feeling that this time (takeover) will be different.

The structure seems to have been professionally done, including what on the face of it seem like quality appointments.

Of course we’ve been there before so many times in my lifetime, so I’m living in hope that our future is bright, and very much Red&White.

I suppose you can put it down to a change. I'm more excited and probably back in love with the club than I have been in years. Don't get be wrong, I'll always support the club and want them to do well but there wasn't that passion there. Watching the team in the Premier with the players going through the motions until the **** hit the fan and then they started to play as they could didn't do much for me (I probably wasn't the only 1) and watching the club slide down the divisions hurt like hell and getting so near but so far with Ross was really disappointing and I couldn't see us getting out of this division in the last couple of years. But now it's different! There's a purpose to the team, the players are putting the effort in - and what's more you can actually see it! The head coach actually has a plan A, B or C and changes things when it's not working. The football maybe isn't the free following that I would like to see but the team won't give up till the final whistle and that's before I get into the new owner! People rightly or wrongly wondered if the club was just going to be a rich kids play thing but he's blown that out of the water straight away. You can see he's in it for the long term, not by what he's come out and said but by the changes behind the scenes. He's the one who put Speakman in charge of the football side and in turn brought in LJ. He's making the club professional again and dare I say it - respectable. I feel the clubs in good hands. It's gonna be a slow process getting back up to the Premier I think but the thinking is there. I now look forward to the next game rather than go through the motions of just watching it and I'm enjoying it! So I think the answer to your question is YES. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I'm buzzing for the future of the club. I do think we will get promoted this season but even if we don't I'm still delighted with the new structure off the pitch and Johnson will (and is) getting it right on the pitch.

Before Christmas I hoped for the playoffs but now I would be gutted if we don't go up automatically. Let other teams worry about us because we are the form team and can beat anyone in this league.

And that's the point mate, everyone knows we're the team to fear ...

... and they do, however they pretend they don't.

If I’m honest and despite being excited about the future - I can’t yet shake the “bloody Sun’land” feeling in the pit of my stomach...

In terms of the new ownership I have genuine hope for the longer term (similar to when Short took over).

LJ looks like a good appointment as do the rest of the back room guys (but I don’t know enough about them)

The problem is that I now have hope and we all know what that can do...still I have bought 2 x SC for the first time and now buy the streamed games too... I can’t lose the worry yet though...

    Absolutely.

I am in a strange place where if we don't get promoted this season I will be devastated but at the same time immensely confident about our future anyway.

I think in a way I'd be more confident about our future starting next season in League One with this regime in charge, than I would have if we'd fluked promotion with the old lot still running things.

Even if you fear the worse it'll still hurt if the worse happens ...

.... so you may as well enjoy McGeady's free kick, and the Burge winner against Charlton, rather than fret.

This is the time for blind faith and belief that no one can beat us.

There seems to be a more professional feel about things at present. A solid foundation being put in place aligned to a clear vision / strategy.

I can say, in all honesty, I've seen nothing this professional in my 50 years of support.

The FA Cup win was a mixture of hysteria, chance and Stokoe ...

... good fortune, fortuitous signings and the stars aligning.

At this moment it all seems more professional and calculated, which I like.

These players don't seem to give up on yhe pitch and that's the way every fan should be, I'm confident of going up either in 1st or 2nd place. If the worse happens and we miss out then I'll be gutted but that'll soon change when the new season starts again as I think this ownership and team knows where they want to be and its not down in the 3rs division.

Of course they should, that's their raison d'etre tbh ...

... anyone deliberately pessimistic can f**k off tbh.

I have always believed every new owner and manager was going to turn us into world beaters but for once that believe looks to be well grounded.

I definitely feel a renewed hope. The new owner hasn't said much but what has filtered down has been very positive and the appointments he has made make me want to believe in him further.

The performances on the pitch also make me think that the players we have also believe in him and what his visions are for the club. We don't look like we will give in once we go behind now, the manager actively wants to change things when he sees its not working and the players look like they will run through a brick wall to make sure we take as many points home as we can. Epitomised by a number of players lately but non more so than Luke O'Nien. We need to keep this lad he's been immense every time I have seen him play.

    I'm backing them 100%

Also just found out that there's another Mackem living just around the corner to me.
He's got a dirty old British Gas van and 2 old Sunderland scarves on the passenger seat.
I just wrote FTM in the dirt on the passenger side door - my bit of street art <laugh><laugh>
