I like Honeyman, one of our best players this season, no doubt about that. Last season, didn’t really light up anything from memory. I don’t think I could really judge other players outside ours, there haven’t really been too many outstanding opponents to make a decision on that front. However, even though he seems to be everywhere, he hasn’t been at his best these last few games. Maybe he’s knackered. I Always assumed when Crowley was signed, he was back up to George, apart from Northampton, I haven’t really seen it.
Congratulations Georgie Boy. He is a class above any other player in this Division and I believe we'll really see him shine in the Championship next year if we are promoted and can hang on to him. His work rate, his technical ability, his set piece accuracy, his amazing vision on and off the ball, his durability, and his never-say-die spirit, are the driving forces behind our resurgence this year. That we were able to buy him for 400k from a main rival Sunderland was incredible and a tribute to McCann's astuteness (not to mention the "steal" of Docherty from Rangers for 300k). I look forward to seeing the Honeymonster with an even stronger supporting cast next year. His passes and runs off the ball would result in many more goals if he had someone like Wyke to finish off the chances he creates as McGeady does. We have not seen his full potential yet. The best is yet to come !!!
I remember seeing a surprising stat earlier in the season claiming he had completed the most tackles in the division. I hadn't appreciated that side of his game, Any stats men on here confirm his number of tackles?
Found his confidence at this level and again hopefully he can take it back to the championship.Well deserved for all the hard work and yards he has put in.
I've lost track of this year, but didn't he come back really strongly at the end of last season after the first lockdown? Wasn't he the only shining light in that horrendous run? Or was that the beginning of this season? I know at some point when no one had seen a player in him at all, he suddenly started performing week in, week out. He had been so poor previously, it took a lot of convincing.
I hope we get promoted and he takes this form up...but the championship is a step up. You find players that are world beaters at a certain level but struggle to make the step up. He came to us on the up and struggled in the championship last time. Just saying.
His struggle in the champ with us was more to do with the struggle he had to adjust to leaving Sunderland and how much it effected him mentally. If you want to hear him talk quite openly about it, take a listen to his interview on the EFL show on talk sort from a couple of weeks ago.
Has McGeady played all year, wasn't he out injured earlier in the season? He's a very talented player, skilful and tricky on the ball and used to have a real turn of pace,I remember him well from his Celtic days..
More fool Parkinson if that's the case.McGeady is above League 1 football,he isn't getting any younger but he's a very tricky player.
I'd like to bet as a team, we have created the most chances? What is the website? I have mentioned before that earlier in the season, I read that at the time he was the top tackler in the league.
