I'm certainly not saying that mate, dunno if anyone else is. I just don't believe in all these jinxes and stuff. To be fair the team seems determined and had made up lots of ground despite some key players being injured. It's not just blind faith that makes me believe, more our good form and resilience. We've overcome all kinds of adversity this season, not least being totally demoralised under Parkinson ... ... it's hard to believe, after all that, but I do.
The Parkinson thing really nags away at me like. If we'd binned him, even say, 2 or 3 weeks before we did we'd be top of the league right now.
Not saying that mate, everyone's entitled to their opinion. Was just poking a bit of fun really, hence the 2037 comment ha
It was October and November under him that did the damage. That's when we started to slide away for a while and people thought we'd struggle to get in to the play offs. The turn around since he was binned has been class. That's the reason why I think we'll go up automatically. We're resilient, have a strong squad, are confident, and I can still see both Peterborough and Hull slipping up themselves. The 2 games over Easter would have been defeats under Parky, maybe a scraped draw against Oxford, yet I never thought we were out of it in either this time. We've got some tough games coming up, but all against teams that should offer us chances to get a result. Unlike 2 seasons ago it was rarely in our hands by this stage, we were already relying on others slipping up when both Barnsley and Luton were on similar runs of form as we're in now. If we'd binned Parky a few weeks earlier as you say, we'd probably be top by now.
It was so blatant the bias. First half they put a dangerous cross in which we did exactly the same second. Both nearly ended up as og but they only showed theirs! Embarrassing really
And that, in essence, is the crux of it. There is no issue with being negative, but when EVERYTHING someone posts is negative, it brings people down and it pisses me off. I understand people who say they think we’ll end up in the play offs but they still have the hope as you do. But there were people, after Oxford scored, who said we’d thrown away any chance of automatic promotion. They also never said a word once we got back into it or after. some seem to say “play offs” and they seem to want it to happen so they can moan about it. Your philosophy is much better
I saw some of the stuff that was said/posted after we went a goal down against Oxford, it was pathetic.
I reckon if Johnson had worked with his squad for a full week before the Wigan game we would have beaten them and had a precious three points extra.
Just got around to watching that!! McFartface!!!!!!!!! Crying laughing man!! Just woke the wife out blurting out laughs!
Any particular reason you chose this random thread from a month ago to bump with your post? Or was it a subtle dig as this was the last match we were reasonably confident of automatic?
It was the thread that was the most recent being discussed on the Sunderland board when I logged into not 606. It wasn't any subtle dig at anything,it was a genuine good luck wish as I'd like to see your team promoted?
