Good Morning. It's Wednesday 7th April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Who will replace Harrison? With Jack Harrison illegible to play against his parent club, who should replace him in the starting line up on Saturday lunchtime? The logical choice would be Helder Costa. The 27yo has made ten starts for the Whites this term and nine substitute appearances. He has netted three times and contributed with three assists. His Whoscored rating is just 6.31, leaving the Angolan in 17th place in the Leeds rankings. Alioski joined Leeds four years ago as a left sided winger. However its fair to say, he could put in a shift anywhere on the field and he would do an okay job! Crysencio Summerville has been in outstanding form for Mark Jackson' U23's. He's exciting, quick, bags of talent and has an eye for goal. Is a first team debut against the Champions to be, too much of a step up for the 19yo? Ian Povada must be in for a shout to play against his former club. Although predominantly right sided, when on form the 21yo can be outstanding. Maybe Bielsa will decide to play three centre backs now that Koch is fit, and use either Dallas or Alioski as wing backs? Hay said, “When people were asked if they were happy with the Leeds performance this year it came in at 54.83% which is pretty low for a promoted club who have played the way they’ve played and are mid-table and are definitely staying up. “I can only assume that in the main, 100% of people are happy or satisfied, but the reason it’s dropped to 50% must be because people have issues with the amount of goals conceded, the problems at set-pieces, or other little things that are niggling at them and turning them into perfectionists. “I’m very, very surprised it’s not in the 80%s or 90%s, I find it difficult to imagine they can pick much wrong with this squad. I think Bielsa has got everything he can from these players. “I know we could pick at set-pieces but this is a side that’s come out of the Championship and performed really well.” Leeds have conceded 48 times this season so far. When you're paying a Manager 6m a year, you expect him to learn by his mistakes. Yes, Bielsa got us into the Premier league, and we are are more or less guaranteed a mid table finish; BUT the Argentine has spent an unprecedented amount in the last couple of seasons. Far lessor players have conceded only a fraction of goals from set pieces compared to the Whites. Why? They find a way to make it difficult for the opponents. Why hasn't Bielsa learnt by his mistakes? What would happen to you, if you were to make the same mistake again and again at work? It's still the honeymoon period for Bielsa at the moment. I'm wondering if this does not change next season, will Leeds fans be so forgiving? please log in to view this image Worse Leeds signings Yesterday, you were asked who Leeds 5 best signings were. Today, we are going to look at the top 10 worse signings, whether permanent or on loan! please log in to view this image
One of the worst i saw at elland road was Anthony Elding. Did we get him from Stockport?. He made knocker showumni look world class.
Morning all Kebe and Stewart What made the pair seem worse is that they joined together, were they actually signings or did we loan them? I can forgive a flop who joined on a free or minimal amount, worse for me are those costing the club a fortune in either transfer fee or wage. If we have to end up paying for Augustin he’ll jump to the top of any list
Morning all Our problem with wingers seems to be because we have 3 right sided and only Harrison on the left. I discount Alioski as he isnt good enough and will be eaten alive by City. Yes Raphinha can play left which gives Costa a go again on the right and Rodrigo may be a better option on the left and leave Raphinha on the right. I do think its time Bielsa made the call on Costa and Poveda though, if they are not good enough offload. We also have Huggins who can play left wing or LWB
My number 1 is a world cup winner, champions lge winner......step forward Mr roque junior.....how? Just how! Closely followed by Tomas "smorgasbord" brolin, who looked fantastic for the Swedes and Parma and then....hey fatty bum bum
Good morning everyone We sure have had some shocking signings over the years, but these stand out for me Tomas Brolin Frank Strandli Steve Morison Felix weiderwald Kiko cassila Roque Junior plus the ones Elland mentioned above. Looking forward to saturday's away trip to City ----------- or am i ?
Weird thing for me, is that regardless whether they like to cut inside on their favoured foot, all of our wingers and both strikers (if rodrigo is a striker) are left footed - harrison, costa, poveda, raphinha, rodrigo, bamford.
I said to Ben this morning, Costa is the obvious choice but, even in a no lose situation him and Alioski on the same side of the pitch scares the crap out of me against Citeh. MB will probably swap Raph over and lose the best of him too. Personally, would far rather throw Huggins or Jimmy in - couldn't be much worse
A bit controversial but we broke our transfer record to bring a prime David Rocastle to Leeds. Although he showed glimpses of his quality he only played about 25 games for us before injuries kicked in and we ended up swapping him for David White from Man City. It was a big disappointment that was kind of overshadowed by the Brolin transfer shortly after.
Afternoon all, We could reel off a lot of awful signings from our Championship and League 1 days but that to me is a little easy especially as most were freebies or loans. Therefore I am looking at worst players on a fee or in the Prem. Roque Junior gets a big mention but will always have a soft spot because of the two goals he scored against the Scum in the league cup. I think I am going to have to go for Brolin.
Rocky was brought in to replace strach, but strach just kept on going and performing even in his twighlight years
