Born and bred a Yellowbelly, I could probably go and do some Wikipedia entries on Lincolnshire. When we were little sproggs, teachers taught local history and geography. Somewhere in a box under the stairs I have an old book about Havelok the Dane, the illegal immigrant that came here with the fish merchant Grim. <laugh>

In 1974 they broke up old Lincolnshire and I ended up in Humberside, a crazy amalgamation of the East Riding of Yorkshire with the northern part of Lincolnshire. At the same time, what used to be Holland became Boston borough and South Holland district. When Humberside was abolished, many of the Lindseys were restored. It still riles people when they get mail on either side of the Humber that says North Humberside or South Humberside.

Market Deeping is not far from Stamford near the Cambridgeshire border. Much of that part of Lincolnshire is small market towns or villages serving the surrounding flat rural farmland. I guess whether Market Deeping is near Boston depends on how many miles ‘near’ equates to on your map. I would say the Deepings are about ten miles from Spalding and it is about fifteen from Boston. So twenty five miles is near in your book.

After I finished uni, I worked as an engineer near Market Deeping. Is there a Tarmac "factory" near there? It was more pre stressed concrete though, or whatever the saying is. Anyway, on that bright note, I am going to my kip, I have a busy day tomorrow.

500 000 of those mortgaged homes in Scotland are holiday homes belonging to Nigel so fùck em!

Pound sterling will tank when Scotland leaves the Union. You will get 3 Scottish squids to a pound. England will have to sell Cumbria to us to stay afloat.

We need a revolution in this country.

Our elected representatives are costing us a fortune, either through their remuneration, their hideous use of taxpayers money and the evil policies which have cost our country a staggering £400bn.

I remember driving to work during the HS2 debates and they were talking that it was going to cost £40bn over 20 years to build and I thought, "that's insane" but they inserted the caveat for the figure by saying "it's only £2bn a year".

We've just spent £400bn in a year and produced nothing of value at all.

Why are people putting up with this pish!!
