Forest were awful to watch , as the commentator said 11 behind the ball at all times, with a full City Ground would have quickly been in their back. With the set ups 1st goal was always going to win it. Austin or Johanson take their chances we go on to win that game comfortably. Field badly missed in midfield, don't understand Kakay being knocked some quality crosses, good balls down the line and good energy, yes he does need to work on his defensive decisions. Willock needs to really strengthen up. This wasn't a hammering just one team reliant on being the "away team" and relying on mistakes which is what happened today

Just caught up with highlights. Bad day at the office. Real test for Warburton and the team to push on and finish as high as possible. Another end of season collapse would be such a shame and a big black mark on Warbs' record.

As silver linings go, Dykes scoring from open play is one of the most welcome imo. Really need to give him a proper chance next year after a year of adapting to a new level and 6 months learning from Austin.

I couldn't be bothered to write about the game yesterday!

However, I have a few thoughts now.

I think having Field in the centre of defense was not a good idea, which doesn't mean I blame him. But this was very disruptive in terms of the normal flow for a back three in our team. Not only must it have been difficult for Field, it was probably difficult for the other two defenders to adapt to Field's midfielder tendancies. I feel we should either have had Ball there, with Field in midfield, or put Kakay in the back three, with Dickie in the centre, and either Kane or Adomah on the right.

I feel like certain players get more flack than others, which is nothing new. It's always been like that, for some reason.

However, yesterday was a bad day for the whole team. No one looked particularly good, apart from Dykes and Adomah, who were late subs. Kelman also looked better than I'd seen him before.

So, I don't know why people would focus so much on Kakay. Yes, he was bad. But who wasn't? I'd still take him ANY DAY over Kane, purely for the fact that he actually contributes to build up play and can help absorb pressure from opposing teams. The ideal situation? Getting a right wing back who is better than both of them. However, I feel Kakay tends to contribute more and has less bad games.

Again, I felt like we were slow to adapt to our opponents. When we have good games, we often start quite well and follow through. But when we struggle for a good chunk of the first half, or all of the first half, against a team that look really professional, we rarely seem to adapt that well.

It was clear what the game needed yesterday, for me. Dykes should have come on at the expense of a player who is not as good in the air (probably Chair), and we should have gone direct and forced Forest to defend, which would have been better than trying to bang our heads against a wall trying to outplay a very organised team when we clearly couldn't string two passes together.

Also, I feel like the team just weren't in it yesterday. Either they were really tired or there was a weird mood in the squad. There was less movement, the players seemed to support each other less and they didn't look as up for it as they have recently.

I like MW and believe he's done well for the club but his constant post match..."we are fatigued and looked slow 1st half"quite regularly now. Mark, you are allowed 5 subs . Get 2 on at half time or just after, 3 by 60 mins, 4 by 70 whatever!!!....I personally think he doesn't trust a few but it just doesn't add up

I'd like to see a lot more of Thomas before the end of the season. Not really had a proper run yet, and would be good to see what he can do going into next year.

Plus he makes it sound as if we are the only team going through this situation!

We’ve only just come off an international break! Or did I miss a few other games.

There’s something in that though. I’m not sure many of us would fancy those subs either. Our record when having a full week off is much better than when playing every three or four days so Warburton will cop some blame for that rightly but he’s also not got a lot to work with.

Forest are an extreme example but they had Knockaert and Lyle Taylor as unused subs which is an embarrassing amount of depth to be below us.

Come now. One Carabao cup game and 10 meaningless pre-season friendlies as well. It must be very wearing. Just think how much energy is used up playing a beautiful passing game over three quarters of the pitch not to mention the nervous energy every time one of our players gets a sight of goal and has the ball at his feet. Frankly it's amazing they don't go down more frequently with work-related stress.

Those of us who've been following this team for a while, should be used to it by now. A little flourish of results followed by an absolute extreme.

    A **** Ranger's - 50%

    A mediocre Ranger's 45%

    A great Ranger's 5%

From the cradle to the grave, nothing changes.

That's what we've bought into and that's our football reality :emoticon-0138-think
