Agree. Stewart should be an impact sub - a player to cause a bit of chaos in the box if we are chasing the game.
Wyke is looking as if he's in a lean spell - is that 4 games without a goal now? This would be the worst time to hit a dry spell

Am in agreement with you on AOB - he needs to be starting games, but I think we look better in a 4-3-3 so not sure how he fits in there

I lose track of who we're supposed to be worried about tbh ...

... it was Doncaster then Shrewsbury then Ipswich and now it's Blackpool.

I think I'll just worry how far it is to the fridge for my next beer.

Not read any of the rest of the thread so no idea if my opinions will be popular or not. In no particular order:

    • draw a good result, top of the table still in our hands
    • Draw especially good considering going a goal down
    • Team looked really tired for the first time in a while
    • Wyke and Stewart up top together didn’t work in this instance but can’t blame LJ for trying it - I would have
    • Was a poor performance in all which makes it even better that we got a point for it
    • Jones looked fantastic when he got the ball but I think he really struggled with the pitch and we struggled to get it to him quickly. He then clearly tired.
    • Sanderson is still a class above
    • Power was very poor today I thought. He’s allowed a bad game tho.

to sum up - poor performance, team selection didn’t work, but in all a very good point which I’d have taken this morning. And I’d very much have taken this position 2 months ago, indeed I’d have thought it impossible.

    On we go.

Not worried about any teams below us tbh. If pompey make 7 points and Blackpool 8 points on us with under 10 games left, then our form would have to be so poor that we couldn’t really finish above Peterborough or hull anyways. It’s all in our hands, promotion or not is down to us, no one else and that’s how I’d want it.

    I worry about most games.
Especially now they are all like cup finals.
I just want us out of this fooking shìt league.
We are obviously good enough to do it but it doesn't stop me worrying.

    Poor performance?

This was a team above us with a great home record, we were away from home and we took a point.

We had 60% possession and the same shots on and off off target

We had 7 corners to their 3 and one of their defenders was MOTM.

    You think that was poor?

They are 7 points behind us with an inferior goal difference, meaning they need at least 8 more points than us to pass us. To catch us they in effect have to win 3 more games than we do, which realistically means we'd need to lose at least half of our remaining games while they can't afford any slip ups.
    Stop talking ****e.

We weren't tired or poor today imo. Roll on Charlton.

seems to be a few saying team selection was wrong...pretty sure all the replies i saw regarding the initial posting of the team for the day were positive (mostly on f/book to be fair) yet now some not happy.

well i was happy enough to see it posted, figured on that pitch it was a good call and our early control of the game would also make it a good one, their subs made a difference and that dembele is a tricky little fecker, he impressed me 1st half up here although he faded drastically 2nd half so maybe that is why he did not start today...was always going to be a tight game but i honestly felt after we equalised we would go on to win it, a few short months ago i would have been hoping we could hold on for the point.

ffs lads, happy or not i guarantee if someone had offered this unbeaten run 5 months ago you would have a) took their hands off and b) pissed yourself...enjoy the fecker man, there will be losses and ****e games but getting so hung up because one lad was a tad out of position at some point across 90+ minutes is going to give you ulcers.

If team selections were guaranteed to work both managers would need to win ...

... sadly Peterborough spoiled our plans by wanting to win the game.

I was happy with the selection and I don’t really think he got it wrong like many are saying, we were the better team in the first half and it took until Ferguson changed his team before we looked in trouble so that to me says ferguson got his selection wrong and not Johnson. Johnson responded again after the goal with his changes and I thought we took control again.

I hoped Johnson would go for all three points but he was obviously happy with one.

The onus was on Peterborough and they fell short.

Yep agree with you, it’s all these fannies that come on pissing their bed. Yes 3 points would’ve been great but we knew it was gonna be a hard game and I’m happy with 1 point as it’s still in our hands and the top two will lose more points in the run in than us

I'm in no rush but I'll suss them out sooner or later.

There's a mixture of banned RTG poster/Mag/Bristol City in there.

Pathetic pretending to be summat you're not ...

that’s fair on reflection. Maybe a nice reminder that expectations have grown so high that what is actually a good performance felt “poor” immediately after. But everything you’ve said there suggests it wasn’t.

I thought it was pretty poor as well. Created very little from open play.

We might not be firing on all cylinders at the minute, but no team we've played since Crewe have heavily outplayed us. Other teams have had spells, including long spells, of being on top against us, but we still consistently grind out results and have spells of dominance ourselves. That resilience is what I think will see us get across the line. We look capable of getting a result in any game we play, which you can't say about many others. Hull recently could have lost with the last kick of the game against Gillingham, Peterborough needed a last minute penalty to salvage a draw against Rochdale in a game where they were 2-0 up.

Today was a tough game, Peterborough are a decent outfit with a good home record. The pitch was terrible and the wind didn't make the conditions any easier, yet other than a few minutes before half time and a 20 - 25 minute spell in the second half when they scored we were competitive for most of the game and probably finished the strongest. I don't think the conditions suited Wyke or Stewart and Jones faded a lot in second half, possibly also due to the conditions. Disappointingly in the early 2nd half our midfield stopped working, I thought Leadbitter was anonymous, possibly due to a change in Peterboroughs tactics which we didn't adapt to that let them press us and stopped us getting out fully and causing us to surrender possession to easily. I do think MacFadzean was fouled in the lead up to their goal, but he was so piss weak it made it look like he was playing for a foul. Once we regrouped and made the changes we came back into it and deserved the equaliser. Overall a point was probably a fair result against a decent team, in poor conditions in one of our toughest remaining matches. Its still in our hands and we're keeping the pressure on Hull and Peterborough. Any slip up from them and we're in the right position to take advantage. Regarding the chasing pack, none of them have shown enough consistency for us to be that worried about them catching us, they all have had good runs and bad runs, but are as equally capable of dropping points as winning them.
