This was a change from tradition. I am unable to find marrowfat peas to make my own but I have Bachelors canned mushy peas but fancied garden peas for a change. The potatoes were finished with truffle oil which adds a unique flavour. I often make traditional fish and chips using haddock or cod and a beer batter recipe obtained from OLM.

I tried papas on kingswod a few weeks back,it was the biggest pile of kank ive had in years, reckon all the tab ends on the car park would have tasted better
£32 for 2x Cod 2x Haddock with chips. Small fish that was overcooked and chips been under the light too long. First time in ages that I missed Hull chip shops.
****ing hell. You must have a hard time shopping if you won't shop at none-Hull based shops. I'm all for supporting your local stores; Butchers, greengrocers, dodgy looking DIY stores, etc. but to eschew none local shops seems a little over the top. So you never nip to a supermarket? Sainsbury's local, Tesco express, that sort of thing?
Unfortunately Anal it's all too difficult to buy local, as so few businesses are run or owned locally - not just in food. But at least fish and chips gives you that choice, and gives local people the chance to start and run their own business. If there was a local car maker in a Trabant stylee, I would drive one.
MacDonalds, KFC, Subway and Burger King also give local people the chance to to run their own businesses.

Late to the thread, and not read it fully but can I give a shout out for Geoff Bielby, he now has The Purple Fish at Burstwick and supplies the best haddock that I’ve tasted in a loooooong time. It’s a bit out of my way but we’ll worth it.
