All our managers have good % as they win quite a bit but don't last! I wonder what the biggest % of wins is ever for one manager?
100% - by me. I took on the coaching job for an U16 team in Queensland, when the previous coach left with ten games of the season left. We won all ten of them, one of my finest achievements - well, my only achievement really.
This thread makes interesting reading six to eight weeks on. Let us assume for the moment that we fall at the final hurdle, do we want him to stay or go? As another question, if he succeeds in getting us back up, do you want the powers to be to give him a decent contract to get him to stay?
If he gets us back up then we should offer him a much better contract - also he should go up with the nucleus of the team which achieved promotion. Having earned it they should have the first playing opportunities rather than those which are brought in.
This question of having to have a special badge to manage there is ludicrous, if you can do it in one league you can in the other. The Dutch league refused to allow Johann Cruyff to manage Ajax for the same reason and so he went to Barcelona and the rest was history !
I am not 100% sure but I think for the games he has been in charge he has the best win percentage and best points total Would be silly to let him go I can't see him demanding a ridiculous contract and £100m to spend on players We have a better squad now than when we came down
I’ve been thinking about this-and our curious head coach recruitment ‘policy’. Xisco has done a brilliant job, even allowing for the talent at his disposal. He had found the right blend-and let it flow. However, the Prem is a different kettle of fish. If I was the hierarchy, I would get in a wise old head with Prem experience as a support, to help Xisco navigate the murky waters of VAR , weird refs and so on. In fact thee is a good precedent, namely Boothroyd teaming up with Keith Burkinshaw which worked well until Aidy thought he could do it all himself. In fact, in my dreams we would get Wenger to cone in and mentor Xisco as well as oversee the younger squads.
Wenger is looking for another challenge Watford finish above Arsenal in the Prem Arsenal meltdown would be beyond epic
Thought the first half was ok but definitely holding back 2nd as if we wanted to save ourselves for Monday and almost paid for it.
