He went through a very good patch at one point, then we played Portsmouth and got battered off the park and it all went downhill from then.

Good patch? We had a half decent patch! We had 1 really good reading under him. He set the team out not to get beat rather than go for a win. Have to admit though, your avatar is quite apt. Just like that idiot who said he was buying the club off the chuckle brothers, everyone just laughed at him and he trundled off. Shouldn't be too long then!

He did have a good patch but once other teams worked us out he literally did not have a plan B. He played the same formation and made the same subs every week

Here Phil, **** off. Joke of a ‘manager’.

Should never ever be involved with a football club again.

he did have some decent results when he first started if memory serves me right is what Wolfy means, however Parky's arse went, and he was **** scared to lose, finally didn't want to attack so played Wyke up front alone wich will never work, when McGeady tried to put him right, he ostracised him, he then lost the dressing room and had to go, thats without mentioning the players he should have given a chance to and didn't, There was also his fantastic signings that were ****e, So when i was saying sack him, i had quite a few disagree with me,but they don't want to come forward, and i'm not going to embarrass them by going back in the posts, and showing links to drum up support.

We are all Sunderland supporters and we all love Sunderland, this board alone shows us how many differing opinions there are out there,a little more backing off, and less charging in would make this board a much better place , and no i'm not accusing you, it's just irritating all these spats, bet it's like Parky's dressing room.anyway as someone said on another thread if you don't like what you hear there are three option, hit ignore scroll to next or go nuclear Sorry to put this as a reply to you mate but it's getting late time to sleep hope you don't mind my little rant.

No worries, like you said we all have differing opinions. Be a bit boring if we all thought alike

It was a ridiculous appointment, typical of Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven. Nobody wanted him except those two clowns. I’d rather have kept Ross.

I’ll never forget that day, I’d just had a lovely walk along the River Tweed with the mrs and had just popped into a pub in Norham for a quiet pint, then I got a text saying the takeover was off and we’d appointed Phil ****ing Parkinson, proper double whammy.

The worst manager in our history, the only reason he lasted so long was because the fans weren’t allowed in the ground to tell him how **** he was. Imagine ostracising and making your best player train with the kids ffs.

I hated the Parkysaur, but I don't rate him the worst manager in our history. For me Sgt Bilko holds that title

    Manager. % Win rate
    Parkinson. 35.5
    Coleman. 17.2
    Grayson. 16.7
    Moyes. 18.6
    Wilkinson. 14.8

We had a good patch becuase we had good players and before his tactics and training ruined us ( I was one of the few sticking up for him for long time). Too negative, and use of subs worst I've ever known

I agree with what you're saying mate, but the one statistic you need to include is that Parkinson was in the 3rd tier with probably the strongest squad in the league.
I think the fairest way to work out who was the best and worst of that bunch is put them in a locked caged with baseball bats and the only one to survive gets to come out. I'd buy a stream to watch that.
Or am I just being a little too sadistic

I was sticking up for him as well while he was close to that 2 points a game mark. As soon as that started to fall away I was more than happy to see the back of him. He had far too much of a defensive approach and the side never really looked like top two candidates. Chalk and cheese between him and Johnson as to how we set up and go about teams and now we do look like a team that is capable of finishing the season in the automatic promotion places.

I'd pay to get in there with the buggers!

Thing is Bilko and Moyes were real mood hoovers but Parkey wasn't - possibly only because he didn't engage with interviewers at all. I agree that his use of subs was the worst I've seen and even a roulette system couldn’t have been worse.
