When I think back to when I first started going to Eastville, must have been somewhere around 73/74 maybe, I remember Robin Stubbs, Stuart Taylor, Harold Jarman and Dick Shepherd were part of the squad then, the teams I recall we always seemed to be challenging for promotion with, were the likes of Aston Villa, Fulham and Southampton. It absolutely amazes me how these teams have progressed since those days, their grounds have become top notch compared to ours, the teams have enjoyed life in the top division and even Europe, while we haven't progressed at all and actually have spent more time going backwards than forwards. Seems there's either no justice or we've been very badly run for decades, compared to others.

How I feel. We won't ever make the championship. And if by some miracle we do, can you see us spending £5 million per player, just to attempt to survive? Can you see us spending the likes of City to fight to get to the Prem? I can't. So what is the point in spending our money when we will never see anything in return. I mean would you be happy to spend £20 in a restaurant and get crap service and crap food and crap facilities but keep going to them again and again and again, year after year after year? And would you still do it if you knew another restaurant could give you great service, great food and great facilities again and again and again, year after year after year and did it for the same price? Course you wouldn't continue to throw your money away. So why do we do it at Rovers when if we are really honest with ourselves, we will never reach the championship.

Like you, my enthusiasm is completely gone. Not just for Rovers but for football in general. I couldn't even be bothered to watch England today or Thursday.

GreatWesternGas / CJS at nearly 74 I to think is it worth bothering, then I think of the friends I have made there the excitement of going to see us trying to cling on to a point from a game that we should have won easily and trying to maintain some enthusiasm when we throw away points like we have this season in games we should have won or at least tried to win, and then I think of the enjoyment I would have if I didn't go and have to go into Bristol to get to the Mem, and then I think of the enjoyment I would no longer have of chatting with you guys and others on this forum and I realise that I am a GASHEAD for better or for worse. Please guys hang on in there there are better times ahead and yes I really do believe that.

Yes I think we will go down this season but after that the only way is up and next season will be better than this one even if we do have a manager we don't like I think he will get this side playing decent football again

Where we are in the country plays a factor why we don't have success. When was there a team from the South West last in the top division? I don't think many good players or even managers really want to come to the South West. We even struggle to get loans in because the top teams have so many small clubs around them to keep their youngsters local to send them on loan. A city the size of Bristol should have 1 if not 2 teams in the Prem. Why haven't there been a Bristol club in the Prem?

We have been and still are a badly run club. City however are run well with a owner who will spend to get what he wants. We have never been in that position and as a result, we are light years behind City in every single way. That's why the are a championship side always there or there abouts at the right end of the table and why we yo-yo between League 1 and 2.

But the reason why both Rovers and City haven't been in the Prem is because we are based in the South West. City will get there 1 day because they will figure it out as they are run well. We will never figure it out because we are not run well.

I think covid has really changed the way I see things. Not being able to go to games. It feels like it ain't my club anymore. I struggle to even recognise Rovers anymore. It's like watching another team who are wearing our kit. At least if we were able to go, I don't think we would be as poor as we have been because I think the players wouldn't have been so bad with a crowd behind them and being the 12th man, we have won the team points by our atmosphere. At least at games, if it was going bad, we could vent our feelings. But spending money on ifollow to watch that crap and be unable to help as the 12th man or vent our frustrations, is just a waste of money, which in the current financial climate we are in, is stupid. If I wanted to watch 11 c**ts get f**ked I would watch porn for free and not pay ifollow £10 a go. We've been a joke all season and with Barton now at the helm, we are now a circus. As I have given up watching us on ifollow, im spending more time with my family and I have to say, im really enjoying it. I am not missing Rovers or football. I am instead making memories and got real close to those who matter the most. I am at the point where I can't believe I have spent so much money, time and energy on Rovers with nothing in return from them, instead of spending that all on my family where the return from them has been so precious to me.

Last night it came home to me how unimportant football really is when a telephone call from a friend who is also one of the clergy in the church I attend when we are allowed in to say that a very old and dear friend had died on Sunday afternoon, it puts a different perspective on things

Today's line up is why I have given up. It's why I have no faith in Barton. It's why we are going down without a fight and why I keep saving myself a tenner each game. Enjoy the game lads. Im going out now being a dads taxi for a few hours! My idea of hell but will be more enjoyable than watching/listening to a team of impostors wearing a Rovers kit.

    I think I said a 3 - 0 defeat against the tractor boys 1 - 0 down after 1 minutes OG Luke Leahy
The goal is the only post on live text

12 minutes played 1 shot on target 1 goal still at least Massive wont get the goal points this time around and as Ipswich have scored a second he won't get the result points either

recognised CD in the back three as we are virtually relegated I think it's time to play the Kids so he can get a better idea of who he needs to replace next season

My 3 - 0 has gone as well Bluebaldee

AFC and Rochdale losing Northampton winning

    Swindon also losing 0 - 1 now 0 - 2 Blackpool

According to I Follow stats we haven't had a shot in this game

    Tutonda off Westbrooke on

    Oztumer for walker

Last 2 changes Hare and Barrett for Upson and Ayunga in the 88th mnute

So the first 11 minutes was as expected. Near a full week on the training pitch for Barton and he somehow made us worse!

Apparently we played well after that but the damage is done. Gifting the opposition a 2-0 head start and expect us to fight back to get points, which we desperately need, is a massive ask because its rare that we even manage to score 1 let alone 2 or more!

It was the wrong starting 11. Before kick off we had 8 games left. We don't need clean sheets now. We need goals. We need to win games. Having Oztumer, Westbrooke and Daly on the bench was suicide to me and no surprises that we lost the game. We may not have won but starting these 3 players will give us the best chance of scoring, not subbing them on with 20 minutes to go when the game is already gone.

We need to go out on every game now and just go for it. We won't keep a clean sheet regardless so just set up in the best way to score goals.

Totally agree with you here - it's **** or bust time now. As you say, it's inevitable that we will leak goals every game, so let's at least 'try' to score more than we concede - probably wont happen but what's the difference in losing 5-0 or 5-4? No points on the board, but at least we will have gone down fighting! For what it's worth, by the simple law of averages, we have to halt this run of defeats at some point. Maybe Doncaster will have a bad day at the office on Monday, and by going for it, we can nick a win. Stranger things have happened - I think!!

Paul Cook the Ipswich manager said he could understand JBs annoyance when his GK was only given a yellow card instead of a red card and with about an hour to play it could have made a major difference to the result

Otzumer and Upson make a great combination, and Daly creates and scores. Hare is also a creator. Time's pretty much run out, and Barton's proved a terrible appointment. Better managers would have got a lot more from these players and we wouldn't be in this mess right now if any of the managers had been any good.

Donny is below us in the form table and we've lost 5 games in a row! Its a must win game against a team struggling worse than us for form and we are at home. I would play very attacking.

    ------------------Jaakkola------------------
    Hare------Little------Martinez------Leahy
    ----Westbrooke--Upson--McCormick----
    ------------------Oztumer-------------------
    ---------------Daly----Ayunga---------------

Hare and Leahy are attack minded full backs. Leahy has goals in him and Hare knows how to create from out wide.
I don't trust Harries or Baldwin. Martinez has played well and I would let him keep his place. Little can play CB and can cover Hare when Hare is more advanced. Little hasn't been given a chance and he has experience and can show some leadership skills.
I don't rate Upson but we don't have anyone else who can sit back and support the defence. Westbrooke and McCormick can roam forward to support Oztumer while Oztumer can push up to make 3 up front to stretch the defence.
Hanlan has been playing with knocks so just give him a break. Put him on the bench.

    Just go for it.

We have got to give it a real go on Monday, we have been lucky that the other results haven't cut us adrift. In the last 5 games Donny have had 2 draws and 3 losses we have had 5 losses this if we get it right could turn things around for us

First shot on target in the game 0 - 1 down

Our idea about taking quick free kicks and Westbrookes free kicks are rubbish two free kicks have gone out for goal kicks and a Williams free kick went straight into the keepers arm

McCormock scores 1 - 1 Doncaster. Westbrookes free kicks this half are Dire change the taker

Donny just had a goal disallowed for off side very tight decision relieved

    McCormick 2 - 1 Donny

If McCormick keeps finishing like that we'll be ok. He gets into a few of those positions every game.
