He’ll be 23 later this year so hardly a kid. He’s not even our youngest forward.

With the appointment of the Cowley brothers Portsmouth have suddenly turned their season round and are on a run .. given his ability to get the best out of the players he has at his disposal I wouldn't bet against them in the play offs .. so whomever finishes 3rd between us .. Posh or Sunderland will definitely have our hands full with them and Blackpool firing on all cylinders. Let's hope we can get the job done and grab an auto spot.

IF we finish 3rd, we will not get promoted via the playoffs. We don’t seem to have the consistency & the fight required

Just read this.... love it !!!
    It’s a section of our HDM reporter’s
take on yesterday, there was more
but I decided to just highlight this
part, “ you cannot keep the little boy
    down in you “ brilliant!!!

3: What about press box etiquette?
There’s an unwritten rule among the football reporter fraternity that allegiances should be put to one side in games, that celebrating a goal for your team isn’t the right thing to do, out of respect for your profession and those trying to do their job often in high octane situations.

The last thing you need when there’s a dramatic moment, another late rewrite is for the journalist next to you to be jumping around screaming, it just isn’t cool nor is it viewed as professional.

A quick search on social media and you can see journalists moaning about this very subject, and it causes some degree of consternation, as it does when club staff in the press area get a little too over excited.

Over the years it’s a motto I’ve tried my hardest to stick to – and believe me, for somebody so passionate, that eats drinks and sleeps football that hasn’t been an easy task at times.

However, there have been times this season when I’ve been unable to stop myself from exclaiming when City score, when the referee makes a questionable decision or a Tigers player plays a poor pass and misses an open goal, largely I’ve gone out of my way to keep my counsel.

At Gresty Road, however, the traveling City contingent probably just about outnumbered those with an interest in the home side, and the roar when Wilks plundered the winner was quite a moment.

As he shifted it onto his right peg, we were all shouting 'shoot' - it felt like an age before he did and once the net rippled, well, we were up.

It means so much to so many, so now and then I think we have to take the professional side of our work out of it and allow for that little boy inside you to enjoy the moment.

Whilst trying to write, tweet - enjoy - and do all the things a modern football reporter has to do when there’s a goal scored, the moment takes hold, the fan inside you comes to the fore and you can do nothing else than punch the air, do a little dance in your seat and cheer – given the current climate, embracing anybody is not something you’re allowed to do.

Football is all about making memories, and yes, we’re partisan, we make no secret of the fact that we want City to win and to be successful – this feeling is only accentuated by the absence of supporters in stadiums, and be in little doubt that had a couple of thousand Tigers fans been at Gresty Road on Friday, the celebrations would have been one to remember.

So, it was left for myself and other visiting media to enjoy the moment on behalf of the Tiger Nation – and be under no illusions, that may not be the last.

Yet we’ve won six and drawn two in our last eight games. Is that not consistent enough?

I hear what you’re saying....but it doesn’t feel like we are improving & building momentum as our rivals are

Trouble with playoffs is they're all once-off games and any team can just have a bad day. I don't like them at all I'd rather have 3 auto places, but I suppose money talks loudest.

Weve had a good season outstripping most people’s expectations
Look where we are. sure there’s a chance we might drop into the play offs but why should we fear anyone in the play offs?
we will get automatic so don’t worry be positive.

Yes I get that. But I reckon if we were watching SUN or PET every game we would feel that they aren’t as consistent as they seem from the outside - eg Sunderland were losing for half the game yesterday and Peterborough were held for 80 plus minutes.

Selfishly, I want to be watching a football match live in the stadium as soon as possible. The play offs are likely to offer that....!
