Smithsonian institute / Institution made a film in 2020 about Corona virus. For those that are unaware the Smithsonian was set up by a British scientist [ LEGACY ] in the mid 19th century to further science understanding and learning...
The Smithsonian channel [ sky 171? ] has some very interesting programmes … Virus and Caves tonight was very intuitive... wont spoil it by to much detail but a lot of it revolved around 2 things close to my heart …. Bats and Caves. you heard it say you learn something different everyday .. on reflection [ daily / weekly ] I do!
Bats has been touted are responsible for corona viruses! pretty much end of …. well a bat is in no way affected by viruses [ I know they are susceptible to a fungi that grows on their nose.. WNS, they didn't mention that, will drop them a mail! ] ONE THING I LEARNED was their body heat increases dramatically as they fly ...humans at 107f = point of dying! ..... bats at 127f are still able to fly ! [ think it was 127f ]. It is a one off chance that makes a lethal virus within the bat … just 1 bat! ..? Smithsonian tracked down the original person who started SARS OR MERS or one of those to a single person in a lift who coughed on 6 others in HONG KONG! …
BATS >>>>>>> DOMESTIC ANIMAL >>>>>>>>>>>> HUMAN >>>>>>>>> = ISOLATED & CONTAINED or PANDEMIC!

Well I’ve finally made it over to Gibraltar to take possession of my flat.
Had to jump through loads of hoops to travel during the pandemic, but really glad we did.
Had to have 2 Covid tests to get here and have to take another 2 when I return.

Airports are the biggest spanner in the works when it comes down to the crunch and trying to track where the passengers have been must be an issue. Going back to the origin of this pandemic Ann and I were on a trip via Singapore onwards to Italy when the hammer came down and were advised that our cruise was off and we made the decision to return to Canada. At the airports we visited in Tokyo, Singapore and Taipei the checking was already under way with thermal imaging zones at arrivals with doctors and medical staff on hand to deal with any problems but when we arrived back in Vancouver all we saw was people handing out leaflets about the dangers of Covid19. The improvements since those fateful days has slightly improved with the national guidelines on travel covering things like checks on temperature and covid screening but still we see many people travelling with the virus and to make matters worse some of them arrive with fake covid test papers.

If only we could get the real message out there to all the idiots who flaunt the regulations in place to keep us all safe and punish the ones who don't give a toss. This scourge isn't going to vanish overnight but if everybody keeps to the rules we will have a better chance of getting through this nightmare.

Sir Lenny Henry has sent out a letter urging folk to have the vaccine.
Apparently only 50% of this group intend to take the jabs.
He urges them to talk to a medical professional rather than listen to an idiot on social media.

We cancelled the cancellation from last years holiday this year.
We’ve put it back to next year, as I don’t want to be sat in 30-40 heat then wear a mask when walking around etc.

have drunk a bit a bit less, probably only about 1/10th of average but instead of £3 a pint about £1.20p a pint polished off some very costly spirits though Whiskey [ £190 a bottle ] / Brandy … [ £145 a bottle ] few bottles of wine [ introductory selection of 12 bottles, rrp cost £700 ] paid £240 didn't take up the offer!!!!! I think they were for sharing rather than consumption over a couple of days! first couple of glasses were very nice... next day not so!

I suggested to one of my Line Reports that we do his 1-1 in a local pub tomorrow - he was delighted!

It’s just been announced up here in sunny Swindon that everyone can get a free Covid test whenever we want. We can either order it online or simply turn up at the testing centre next to the County Ground.

Tried to get a slot at the Maes Knoll or the Yeoman last week for Monday just gone, and both were saying they had no availability, so I thought sod 'em and carried on drinking at home as per usual.
Supposed to be going out with my mates from Alveston and Dursley at the end of May for an all day session, starting at 08.00 with breakfast in a 'spoons somwhere.
