2:00 Wincanton;
Danny Kirwan has never lived up to the hype at all. Was talked up as being Nicholls' next star horse before he had even set foot on a racecourse and hasn't delivered at all. Has ran ok in fairness and is rated a good bit above these horses. Although some of these could improve I'm hoping today will be the day for Danny Kirwan after running ok a long way behind Craigneiche at Ascot in January. He's been an absolute cliff horse for me over the years but I think today he could run well. The favourite has beaten some decent horses in the past too but I'm hoping he doesn't progress as well as hoped in this race
4:10 Fontwell; Going to have to go against stick here with a horse half his selection's age.
Zafar definitely didn't progress as hoped last year, but seemed to be running a bit better at the end of last year, I'm hoping that the AW bumper he ran in was just to get a run into him, and he progresses again. He might be half the age of stick's horse, but he's half the odds too, 6/1 so just a little play here.
3:20 Stratford; I'm hoping that getting back to good ground will get
Bannixtown Glory back to winning ways. Was running very well until Christmas when he disappointed a bit, I can see him bouncing back from that race and going very close here. He's against some decent horses, Flemcara's last race had some horses who ran ok in the Pertemps, whereas Rio Quinto might not seem the greatest, but is very lightly raced. Holdbacktheriver was going ok over fences but after 2 bad errors in his last 2 races I'm hoping he's getting this as a run just to get his confidence back and not pushing too hard for the win and Fontley House if running back to his best could be dangerous but I can't see that happening. I'm happy with 11/4 in the hope that he can hold off Flemcara.
