traditionally BD give reasonable release clauses to encourage players to join allowing them to see it is as a stepping off point to a "bigger" club . PS it is Sancho not Sanchez and he he has stalled in his progress as far as i can see.
I know kane thinks he is gods gift given his record as a good mid table goalscorer but he doesn't seem to realise that he sold his career down the drain when he sign a contract with spurs that wont run out till he is 30. The best he can hope for is to do a Robin van Persie type swansong. He should be in his prime now bit imo he is slowing down a bit so it will be interesting to see what happens next. Levy will never let a good business deal go to help a legend leave the club. Theres no way anyone pays the kind of fees that would be demanded
Think Haaland, Kane, Sancho and Mbappe, teamed up with Jota, Mane and Salah already there, would be a waste playing Europy next season. So for their sakes, we probably won't buy them.
He’s bagged 27 goals and 16 assists in 40 games this season. He’s 27 & has 215 out 327 in his career at Spurs. ‘Good’ ****ing lol. He’s currently sat on a £200k a week deal that runs until the summer of 2024. If he wants to move on, the fee on him would be prohibitive and in this market, I can’t see it happening. No tears need to be wept though, Spurs coughed up mega money to keep him on a very long deal, and he was happy to take the dosh. Shearer MKII.
Ha ha. I knew I'd get at least one fishie with this one. But yeah anyway spurs are paying every penny of the eventual fee out in wages to him. I wouldn't insult him to go as far as to call him Shearer mark ii. Shearer ran as far as he could from any big clubs especially later in his dying career as he knew hed be found out for pace etc.
Exclusive: Liverpool working to finalise deal for Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig. Not done but significant progress made + #LFC pursuit of 21yo French centre-back now advanced. Likely his ~€40m release clause will need paying @TheAthleticUK #RBLeipzig
interesting timing. It comes out in the international break so I presume the lad is off with france u21s in this euros thing. It could be agent seeing if anyone else will offer more? Its the type of thing thats specific enough to be believable. It does throw a little doubt onto Kabak, however his ability to play LCB might mean the lad's improvment over the past month or so might not be in vain. I'd be quite pleased to have Konate, Kabak, VVD and gomez with matip hanging round like a bad smell as our CB options next year.
It's still too early to see whether we proceed with Kabak but I have been pleasantly surprised with him. He has settled in nicely and shown he can play on both sides of the defence. For £18m, he could be a shrewd long term signing - someone who will be behind VVD and Konate but has the potential to become a regular. If anything, I reckon we sell Davies and Phillips and we'll get £15m-20m if we're lucky. On paper, Konate fits the profile perfectly. He is the ideal option - quick, strong, good in the air, decent on the ball and can play in a high line. The only question mark over him is his injury record.
See we were also linked with some Torino player. Can’t remember his name now, but was an attacking right back / right winger who also played CB a few times. versatile and maybe competition for TAA who has played pretty much every game last 3 years
My filter is.l this. Italian? Completely made up. Linked to a list of 3 or 4 clubs in same shartilce. Made up. In general there are very few sources I'd believe any more, I'd put them in the same category as lizard men stories but when someone like the athletic is that detailed about the player and making it clear it's at an advanced stage they are actually.putting some reputation on the line in publishong
