If we can sign him for another season on loan that would be a result. I’d imagine other clubs have seen his performances and will be contacting Wolves regarding his availability.

Whether we have a chance of signing him permanently depends on how wolves see his development and the lad himself has to want to sign for us. No doubt he’s enjoying life here and playing regularly but he said himself only 4 days ago that he sees his future as a wolves player and playing in the premier league.

If we can get rid of Willis in the summer imo and get Sando on board then that would be brilliant business imo.

Get rid of Willis? He's one of the few players who is capable of stepping up, even if it was as backup. He's had a poor season because of injuries, I'm surprised anyone would think he'd be one of the first out of the door.

Sanderson and O'Nien are our best 2 central defenders. People may not agree but I think O'Nien will prove to be better at centre half than he will in centre mid. Sanderson is the most natural centre half we have, when he played full back earlier in the season he looked a bit lost. In the middle he dominates the game. Might sound ridiculous but reminds me of a young Rio Ferdinand in how he plays.

I’m sorry but Bailey Wright is head and shoulders above O’Nien. It’s actually laughable to suggest otherwise.

Laughable in your opinion but not in my opinion clearly and we need to respect opposing views.

Wright has had some dubious displays this season. Defensively he gets turned at times. His tendency to look for the long diagonal ball disrupts our play and gives back possession easily. O'Nien is a much more dominant player. I dont dislike Wright at this level but in my opinion the partnership between Sanderson and O'Nien is a cut above any other we have.

Many posters rate him on here but no one ever seems to identify why they rate him. I don't rate him for many reasons:

    1. All those 5 yard rainbow clearances inside our area. Two or three of those each match. Most of his clearances place our goalkeeper in jeapordy.
    2. When he makes a good play it almost always results in the ball going out of play -- usually for a corner.
    3. When we play a high line, it is easy to play the ball right through him.
    4. So poor at free kick defending, Parky didn't have him marking anyone between our goal posts. O9 and Hume had the responsibility.
    5. He's short and is not a good two footed leeper, he has to jump like a high jumper to elevate. McFadzean is a much better 2 footed jumper. O9 is taller.
    6. He often gets manhandled by opposing physical attackers.
    7. He can make a good recovering sliding challenge but he doesn't show much pace when he is tracking back in pursuit.
    8. He did OK on the right side of a back three, but I'd rather have AOB or Stewart diverting attention away from Wyke.
    9. He's aging, and with a bum knee.
    10. Both Coventry and SAFC got a boost when he was out of the line up.

I'd say that they are at a similar level at CB. They have a similar approach to it but Luke is a little more composed and Wright is probably a bit bigger and definitely more experienced.

Having said that the sooner we move O'Nien into midfield the better. He's done well at CB but all it's done for me is showcase the defensive side of his game, it doesn't mean he should play there long term. His ball retention and eye for goal makes him a valuable midfielder.

You think the manager never picked him because he is too good to buy permanently! It was poor of Johnson not to try him more often and sooner. We got lucky that he had to play nothing more.

Bailey Wright is a good leader and organiser but if I chose two i’d choose Sanderson and Willis

i agree about Sanderson, and I'd be over the moon to sign him permanently, exactly the type of player we need to recruit for our journey back up to prem (hopefully) As for O'Nien , he's done a great job at centre half, but I think he'd be found out by good championship strikers, and I'd rather have his energy in midfield, where I'm sure he'd be happier to play regularly, as opposed to the jack of all trades he's become lately. If Willis can get over that horrible injury I'd have him and Dion as 1st choice.

Exactly my view- and a team of Sanderson type signings are the way forward. Ability with age and room to grow.

You might be right about good championship strikers mate. Certainly Sanderson looks like he would cope because he reads the game and has the physical attributes. My feeling about O'Nien is that he gets better all the time and keeps stepping up. I think he can step up to championship on sheer attitude. Whether he could cope with the movement of say a Pukki would be a challenge, but I wouldnt back against him. The improvement he has shown is superb. The pair of them seem to have a real partnership and I wouldnt break it up this season. However, if Wright gets fit and we need O'Nien in midfield for injury reason I wont moan.

& just as important to add....the right mentality & reasons he wants to be here.

We have bought lads with potential, same as journey men, but with a **** attitude i.e. wickham.

Think the new recruitment team will be onto that as much as the other.....dare i say the piss taking party stops?:emoticon-0138-think
