And yet still won a greater proportion of his games as Sunderland manager than Dick Advocaat, Howard Wilkinson, Chris Coleman, and Simon Grayson
Short can you identify the trouble makers, manager sacked, relegation to div 3. KLD can you identify the trouble makers, players binned, 3rd off top. Can you spot the difference rb92?
Worst thing was several of the players Di Canio fingered as issues remained for 2-3 more years and rotted the place to its foundations. Moyes didn’t help bringing in N’Dong, the biggest disgrace of a player I’ve ever known, worse than ****ing Rodwell just less costly. ****. He was ****e as well and cost 2 M’Vila’s
Although I loved the bloke got to admit he’s history now. Saying that KLD and him would of been a right mix
It still hurts, I share your pain, the rancid dressing room lost those games that got PDC sacked, not the manager and they went on to loose a lot more before they got their last penny out of a club they helped bankrupt.
That team was absolutely dreadful and certs for relegation ... ... keeping them up was incredibly difficult.
PDC, is a character certainly, whether a good or bad character? He could be both within a 5 mins period. Definitely passionate about football and life... he helped us for a short while. .but too short a fuse and just plain odd, to be really successful as a manager. IMHO like
That team was saved more by Wigan being distracted by the FA Cup than by Paolo Di Canio. The four games following the win over Everton were dreadful, stuffed by Villa and then woeful home draws with bang average Stoke and Southampton. Then he had his little hissy fit after the final day loss to Spurs. It was a ridiculous appointment, typical of Ellis Short.
A very small sample size, plus the managers he compared him to (Wilkinson, Coleman etc...) were also pathetic. Saying he had a slightly better win percentage than those losers is not exactly a ringing endorsement.
You couldn’t be more wrong. I couldn’t stand most of the players that were playing for the club when we appointed Di Canio, I just didn’t rate the bloke as a manager and seemingly I’m not alone as he hasn’t been seen since.
Nope I didn’t want any of the managers he quoted to be appointed with the possible exception of DA who I believe did a better job than Di Canio in managing to keep up an even worse team than the one 2012/13, unfortunately he was then shafted by Short and his cronies after being wooed all summer.
I think if you were splashed over every newspaper as a mad facist I don’t think we would see you anymore either
And you don’t think Di Canio was shafted, he’s actually said he never got one player he asked for but you don’t see that as a problem?
