I'd say 2 mil is way off what we'd have to pay. We paid more than that for Grigg and it's safe to say that Sanderson is a higher quality player.
£2 mil is an absolute steal. Could sign a 3 year contract with us. Guaranteed 1st team footy. If we do not get to the promised land he has had a good grounding with us and he moves on up to somebody else whilst still only 25 ish.
This is absolutely the kind of sensible loan policy we need to be implementing. If we can't get him permanently, then extend the loan for another season and see where we are then. Other regimes would waste that money on a poorer player.
I honestly thought LJ believed he would never get him and so kept on playing Wright & Willis. Injuries forced him to play DS but I think it would be Willis or Wright left out now if all fit. Impossible to drop Sanderson.
I know you get a discount when it's the last year of a contract but not that much of one. I think we'd do well to get him for less than 10 mil, granted I am pulling that figure from out my arse.
Nothing like a bit of optimism but after his recent form I would expect Wolves to offer an extension to his contract at the end of the season
Great benchmark signing if it can be done, almost in the too good to be true bracket. We live in hope.
If they want 2m it's an absolute steal. I know he has only been doing it in league 1 for us so hopefully he isn't on the radar of many clubs.
£10m - give yersel a shake. Whilst he is playing well, let’s not forget he’s playing against Div1 players. No way will he cost anywhere near £10m, and if that’s what Wolves demand we should walk away coz there’s better out there for £10m IMHO. Don’t get me wrong, we should try to buy him, but only at a realistic price. I also think any deal will depend on the player and whether or not he wants to sign for us, or make more money elsewhere. Time will tell, but I’m not getting over excited, though I’m confident our new regime will try to get the “right” deal for all parties if there’s a deal to be done. Bart
He does look like a very good player mind. And agree that it was nuts when it seemed for a while that Flannagan was getting picked ahead of him.
