The Northern Echo this morning was reporting likely that Wolves would offer him an extended contract and be open to another year's loan if we were in the Championship!
I suppose we have to wait and see which, if either, is correct.

Would love him too sign permanently but I think we would need to be promoted to stand a chance. We have a few things in our favour - he knows the club, manager and he seems to be enjoying his football here. What I found interesting was that he was the player that came out and said that KLD spoke to the players about the plans he has. I would've thought it would've been either Leadbitter or Power. Here's hoping everything comes off and he's playing his trade here in the Championship next season

I had the same thoughts about him talking about KLD, on loan players would be forgiven for saying very little outside of their own game.

He comes across as if he is very much enjoying his time here. I think if it came down to it and we are in the championship and interest is from others in the league he will be wanting to sign for us. I think only premiership clubs, Wolves or another signing him would see us lose out. As long as we match Wolves asking price/what other clubs offer of course.

He only signed a contract with them in Oct.
I dont think signing him will be easy though, he needs to want to stay here. He looks and seems happy here so if we get promoted then we may have chance. If not then we will probably have to see Flannagan play again next season. Thats how important promotion is for us. The quality of player we are able to sign will depend on what league we are in.

would love to see it but right now he is part of a premier league club and the riches it entails, maybe he is more 'old skool' and really prefers to be playing every week and fighting to get back up there and would welcome the move...or he could prefer the chance of more money...suppose a lot also depends on what wolves offer him but he does seem to have settled here so...fingers crossed.

I think this will happen. I have thought for a while that he looks like someone who thinks he will be here next year. I cant remember a loan player who has looked so committed as him. He does his share of media too. I would not be surprised if has hasnt told the hierarchy he will stay if a deal can be done.

He looks committed, the media work and his tweets are above what you usually see from a loan player. He comes across as being happy to stay in we are promoted and a deal can be done.

A season or two in the championship is his next step in development anyway might as well be somewhere he seems happy.

Makes it even more odd that he didn’t get played for the first few months. Really hope this happens.

This has been going on since the start of March, also looking at the option of another loan if we can’t pull it off

Yep. Two options apparently. If Wolves want him to stay they will extend his contract and we get him back on loan with a loan fee paid. If they dont want him to stay we are trying to sign him permanently for 2m

Are you serious? Thats an absolute bargain for a quality young English player. Hes sell on value could potentially be about 10 times what we pay, if not even more.

Ah right, thats fair enough. Yeah it is quite cheap really when you look at how much some of Englands young defenders have been sold for over the years.

To be honest I think the £2m might be the loan fee not a transfer fee.
