Good Morning. It's Tuesday 23rd March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Klich admits burnout Polish International Mateusz Klich has admitted suffering tiredness and fatigue, attributed to the excessive schedule the 30yo has ensured recently. Klich has made 36 appearances this season for club and Country, accumulating a total of 2441 minutes of action. Astonishingly he completed 50 games last season with over 5000 minutes on the clock. Lets bear in mind that the season finished on the 22nd July, and restarted on the 12th September. When you consider pre-season training started three weeks before the trip to Anfield, it is not surprising that the poor lad is burnt out. Klich’s form and impact on the Leeds team has dipped significantly since Christmas, and personally I am absolutely gobsmacked its taken so long for the management to rest him. Speaking to Polish outlet Sportowe Fakty, Klich said:- please log in to view this image Pundits come out in support of Bamford Soccer pundits Rio Ferdinand and Micah Richards have both voiced their disapproval after Patrick Bamford was left out of Gareth Southgate's latest England squad. The 27yo celebrated his 14th goal of this campaign on Friday evening helping the Whites to overcome a plucky Fulham side full of confidence. Speaking on his Youtube channel, the former Leeds centre back said:- Fellow pundit Micah Richards made it clear that Bamford would be on his England squad list if it was up to him. please log in to view this image Whelan blasts Bielsa over defensive set up Noel Whelan has criticised Marcelo Bielsa over Leeds set piece tactics. Leeds have conceded more goals from set pieces than any other club in the top flight. They have also conceded a total of 47 goals so far this term, significantly more than the majority of their competition. Fortunately, having scored 45 times, their top flight status is not in doubt, and a top half finish surely beckons. Whelan said:- Bielsa spent circa 100m last Summer on new recruits, significantly more than most of the top flight. We must also remember, he has 6 hand picked coaches at his disposal. Whilst it's easy to point the finger, surely we need to be asking ourselves, why aren't they learning by their glaring mistakes? The entire coaching team have the facilities and the entire backing of the club to make whatever changes may be necessary. please log in to view this image
Good morning all. Thanks for the daily articles Ell. Much appreciated. It's obvious that Klich hasn't been right for 3 or 4 months now. I'd get safe and give him an extended break. He has gone from our best player at the start of the season to a liability. He hasn't become a bad player overnight. He needs a long summer. I see Tyler Roberts has said that taking the knee has lost its impact. Can y'all give him a break now. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56491563
Morning all Lets be frank here Southgate is a bellend and always has been. Probably the worst England manager ever when you think of the players at his disposal. He has favourites and thats why he never picks a sold defence he prefers his boys to get a game even though every one of them is usually out of normal position. He doesn't rate Grealish or Bamford, he will have Phillips sat on the bench. Noel Whelan is another bellend and loves to push his own views and made up stories. Now he says Bielsa is an idiot? Jeez..... The Klich thing is accurate because he has played almost every game for Leeds since Bielsa arrived. He played something like 98 matches on the bounce for Bielsa before being left on the bench for a game, then was brought on and then played the next dozen before benched again. Third season and they had no break between last season ending and this starting. He needs a rest
In a word no As you sow so shall you reap He can F off for me and give his black power salute elsewhere
Fks sake Frank Worthington has now passed too RIP Frank i played against him on a pre season tour of Hong Kong back in the 70s. He walked onto the pitch with a fag on. What a baller
Morning all, Both Ferdinand and Richards are absolutely right regarding Bamford. Ferdinand especially hit the nail on the head when he said Bamford should be asking what more does he have to do. Southgate claims it was a toss of a coin between Bamford and Watkins. I'm sorry if its that close you do not toss a coin you look at the statistics. Bamford leads them in nearly everyway. As for Whelan I have stopped listening/reading to anything he says. Just someone else paid to spew out this crap just because he played football.
Yes add him to my reject list take what we can get. Pity he has been played at all but only due to injuries. I have lost count of the number of goals the lefty activist has not scored. It must be at least zero. Even that league one baldy bearded striker at sheff utd has managed to hit the onion bag since promotion. He can link up and create all he likes but we need goals so sell him.
Lord Bamford should come back and play for Ireland, he is a Paddy after all (and we'd guarantee him a game). I suppose Klich is off to play for Poland during the international break?
I dont think any player should go away to play a friendly. Nobody has had a close season break, muscle injuries are higher than they’ve ever been and strange results have happened all season. These players should accept a little break resting up through this International break. This is the 4th break this season and made it a May finish for the season, so a short close season yet again, and for those playing in the Euros no break. Madness
Honestly I'm rather glad he's not been called up for international duty pity so many others have been. What would we be saying if they picked up injuries or got a dose of covid and it f-ed our season up.
Best if our players are kept well away from the inept Southgate's coaching methods. Phillips was terrible for a few games when he returned from international duty last time.
Although he was only with us for a while he was a maverick, he loved Elvis, beer and women and his skill set was unbelievable. Mentioned it before but seen him and Eddie Gray playing against uddersfield. Although his best days had gone, he still showed glimpses of brilliance. RIP Frank...
I remember being amazed by his skill, and that was in the pre-match warm up! Made it look so easy. RIP
Along with other gifted players who didn't get the caps they should have, Currie, Hudson, bowles, marsh,George, etc sensational on their day and loved by many Frank was a great player who didn't do to bad with us in his short spell..... he'll be singing an Elvis song up there "viva las Frankie" r.i.p.
So I see all the Alioski bashing has started on twitter again after Phil Hay tweeted that talks are with the Turkish scum. I've said before I will not hold it against him as this is a very different situation to the Kewell thing. The thing that has struck me today though is what appears to me the general age group of the most angry on twitter. The ones spitting out the most vitriol and hatred towards Alioski appears to be the age group who either weren't even alive or were in nappies when the tradegy occurred. I'm not suggesting they shouldn't be angry or have the rivalry with that club but it's the level of anger from them that shocks me. I know we talk about the leeds family but most are reacting like they are family of Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight.
Afternoon all Sad news about Worthington, I know he wasn’t with us long but he stood out and I took to him. Alioski has to do what is right for him, I don’t care who he joins, I’ll wish him well and I’ll be happy that we hopefully sign a better player to replace him. Roberts... I’m wondering if he is just ignorant and ill informed as to what his raising the fist actually means to many. The entire taking the knee is ridiculous. Bamford is good in a Bielsa Leeds team, the minute Bielsa leaves Leeds I believe we’ll need a more prolific striker. I don’t believe Bamford is good enough for England but I am surprised that Watkins is.
