A win, or even a draw, for Blackpool would set up our game as one that could take us second ... .... at Christmas that looked impossible.
Tough game for Peterborough, fancy the draw in that one. Oxford should win tomorrow night, it would be lovely if they could take something on Friday night also.
Absolutely, their recent form is dreadful and they needed a dubious penalty to save a point against the bottom team in their last game. They've only beaten Burton in their last 5 games and struggling. Blackpool are unbeaten in their last 5 games and playing well, won away to Oxford in their last game. Only an idiot would think it's an easy game for Peterborough.
We are definitely at that point in the season where looking at fixtures and results of other teams is the order of the day. Blackpool clearly still in good order for play off push. Not sure what to make of Peterborough - score plenty but seem easy to score against. Not straight forward by any means for them.
I think we will see plenty of unpredictable results in the run in. I would hazard a guess we will slip up when on paper we shouldnt. That is what happens when teams are playing for something close at hand - pressure. Besides, league one isnt a league where you just roll teams over, there is no divine right. The easiest job a coach will ever have is to organise a defensive shape of 4 and a 5. If players are well drilled they will be hard to break down. Then add in a side good at set pieces and you have a very tricky game..
Dead right mate. On Saturday Peterborough and Hull both had easier games than us and dropped two points. Lincoln have won more games than us so I'm taking that as a point gained. We were nowhere at Christmas but these fluke results keep helping us. As you say, there'll be more.
Just to elaborate on my last post. The match I think looks most daunting in our run in is away to Plymouth. They will have no pressure, last home game of the season for them. I would expect us to be still fighting it out. Long journey too. Give me a match against Peterborough instead and I would take it.
You just have to look at Hull and Posh mate. Both have lost more than a quarter of their games played. It is a crazy league and we shouldnt be surprised by any results really.
Exactly mate, those two and Lincoln have all lost twice the games we have. That makes our players believe they're not going to be beaten whereas their team will always have that doubt in their minds.
