I said "look at Leicester, they've got one thing we all dream of". She said "what, ambition, investment, a vision?" I said "no, a dead owner."
Look Leicester are a bigger club.. They've won the premier league.. Newcastle haven't won anything, but the fans think they're a big club and should be in the champions league.
Final thought on the inexplicable/inexcusable backing of Bruce - what if there’s literally nobody else available? Think of how influential Rafa is, and think of the farcical hiring of Bruce - the club is an utter mess, maybe Mike has finally made such a ****ing ****show of it nobody wants to touch it? Most plausible reasoning I’ve heard so far.
I think he wants to be able to say to Allardyce or some other manager that's only priority is building **** sides that get points and one that has absolutely no belief or desire to achieve more than Ashley himself does, that no matter how **** it gets he won't sack them.
Well yes, hence we can only get desperate old knackers like Bruce, McClaren, Kinnear, Carver, Pardew blah blah. Rafa wanted to actually build and get success, and when he realised Ashley's business model is "just about survive each year, but never under any circumstance win anything or get into Europe", then he walked. The like of Wigan and the ****in Mackems has shown us that just about staying up every year always ends in relegation inevitably, and that's more than likely our fate this season.
LOL "it is understood". So there is still a dressing room spy after the embarrassment of the Ritchie argument? They're surprised he wasnt sacked? Hardly needs an undercover insider to tell us that, all the fans are astounded he was sacked months ago, so why should the players think any different?
Can you define what constitutes following the club as I don't want to be classed as an idiot and a sympathiser. I obviously can't go to the game at the moment so: 1) Am I allowed to watch us play on TV, as long as I don't get upset if we lose? 2) Can I check websites to see the Newcastle result (is it okay if I don't take much notice of it?) 3) Am I allowed to post on matchday threads on here, as long as its entirely negative? 4) Does calling Joelinton a waste of space count as following the club? 5) Am I allowed a tear or two if we get relegated? I get heartily sick of people telling me how to behave as a Newcastle supporter and how following the club or not boycotting the matches means that I am somehow condoning the club owner and management. By all means stop following the club if you want to but don't start telling the rest of us what to do, or denigrate us if we don't do what you think we should. You can follow Newcastle, and still think that Ashley is a twat and Bruce should be sacked.
What, citing his impeccable record of getting countless other teams relegated? He'd already be long gone if Ashley had another target in sight, clearly no one is interested in the job, the only option Ashley's got is to make Jones manager, which is hardly a massive step forward.
And Ashley's the type not to care, he doesn't care about the club or the fans, so why she he care about Bruce? He's become a billionaire by being a ****, not listening to whose who fall to their knees and suck him off. Regardless of how desperate Bruce is to stay in a job, the only thing keeping him in there is the fact no one better wants the job.
Ashley likes him that's the key.. If you do what you're told he won't sack you. Something happened after the game.
Ashley being mates with you doesn't count for **** - hence he sacked his good mate and drinking buddy Joe Kinnear from the director of football position when he ****ed up the Yohan Cabaye transfer and didn't get enough from PSG. Ashley is pragmatic and knows that relegation costs money and he left it too late sacking McClaren last time. Difference was last time Rafa was available... What are the options this time? Jones or Chris Wilder? Hardly a dramatic change.
