I ended up thinking pretty much the same as you... Gee Rex looks thrown in but Godhead could be a great E/W shout so they'd be my plays in this race...

I'd be nearly tempted at huge odds by Quizzical and Weld's Deidra, with Star of Cashel at smaller odds (40/1)... Probably will just pick one of them just before the off when hopefully they give bigger prices again...

Gee Rex and Godhead with terrible runs... Waited too long and only got 33's on Star of Cashel... Thought I was onto a winner for a while but I'll take the place, covered my bets on the first two and Quizical...

Great run by Hayes and Keane might think he was unlucky not getting going until late... Enjoyable first day back all the same and looking forward to the next few months :emoticon-0178-rock:

4:40; I've always liked Dundory and having won over 1m2f here on heavy I feel it can go very close here... Tony Martin also runs Golden Spear, who could be used to ensure there's a decent pace to start here, just incase he can bolt off and get to the front I'll have a tiny bit E/W in the hope he can hold on for a place because I doubt he has the speed to win a normal run race over this distance... So I'm hoping for a Tony Martin 1-2

3rd and 4th in the Irish Lincoln is not too shabby. Almost makes up for being on the wrong JP horse at Chepstow

Finished fourth after leading most of the way, going clear with the front two and then stopping very quickly. Perhaps he will be fully fit next time out :emoticon-0121-angry

Ooft, of course the 2nd string Bolger horse wins. Freedom of Speech ran well, was green as grass and fought for her head much of the race. Could be OK once upped to around 6 or 7f and I'd expect her to strike soon. The winner looked useful but I'd be wary of the form going forward. The favourite tanked for 3f but emptied and that was due to the ground, which wasn't ideal. I wouldn't be too crticial of much of these as many played up and wouldn't have liked the going.

The two handicappers ran OK, Quizzical made the running and emptied, so was only out for a blow and Insignia ran alright into midfield, didn't have the staying power of the front few.

    There will be better days.

Godhead should have been renamed God Awful. I would probably have gone with the Lyons horse but he was 7/1 when I was considering him. Typically drifted to 11/1 and a backable proposition but was 2nd so not the disaster it would have been had he won.
