It'll end up being the Saudis he's just going to make it sound like he had no choice because others messed him about.
You just said yous would end up running it. Cant blame them for not wanting that. God, I wish football would go back like it was in the 80s. English owners, English manager, majority English players. The game itself was more important, not worrying about takeovers and administration. Sad really.
It is what it is and unfortunately fans ate all hoping for takeovers and so far every single one has been accepted apart from the most financially beneficial there's ever been.. Mental
I can’t see the takeover happening at 350m if we get relegated. I can’t see Ashley accepting what is probably the right value of the club at less than 200m when we are relegated. PIF and co I doubt will be interested in the mess SB will leave behind. The PL win by proxy. Arbitration becomes irrelevant if we get relegated. They played the long game knowing SB would probably take us down.
Rafa has given an in depth interview. Says he's had to install another TV in the house just for football. Says he's watching 3 or 4 matches every day from German, Spanish, Italian, French and English leagues. Says he has phone calls with coaches all around the world discussing tactics and keeping up to date with modern ideas. Says he wants to return to a top league with the priority being the Premier league. Has ruled out a return to Newcastle, but wants us to stay up and says he still loves the club and its fans. He says he wants to compete or to have a project in which he can develop the club and then be able to compete that way. If he can't get a job in England. He says Spain is difficult as no clubs have any money apart from Madrid or Barcelona. He said Italy is also a difficult league. He says he would manage in Germany, but more often than not they want a German speaking manager. He says he can speak French, so France would be a good option. He says he's had offers from clubs from UAE, China, Brazil, USA, but wants to stay in Europe. He says if he finds the right club in England he would take over tomorrow if he could, but says there's currently no options so he has to wait a couple of months, but doesn't want to wait too long, as he wants to get working. If it means going to another country, he will. Surprisingly he says that Alex Fergus on is one of his role models and he wants to manage in to his 70s if he can. He says he has no interest in becoming a director of football and has already turned down offers to do so. Says he might do it after he's retired. All his former players who now manage, used to think Rafa was a tough manager and hard on them, but now they understand why he did what he did and they admire him more. Xisco, Baraja, Gerrard and Albeda all keep in touch with him and ask for his ideas and reminisce on the past. He says it's important now more than ever for a club to produce its own players. So his priority is a club where he can do that, with good youth structures in place.
He’s ruled out a return to us under ASHLEY mate. you may be able to get your **** sock out in the Summer after all.
He's not returning. "The buck stops with the manager, guaranteed. I hate talking about managers losing their job. But I think under this owner - someone who is looking to sell the club - it is paramount that they stay in the Premier League. "He won't be looking at individuals, he won't have any sympathy for individuals right now. He'll be looking at his asset, what it is worth in the Premier League and how attractive that is to potential buyers, compared to being in the Championship. "I look at that group of players and I wouldn't be confident about them winning another game, if that's their attitude tonight. They were going through the motions." He said he wishes them well in the future, that doesn't sound like someone who is going to return. When asked about Napoli he said he didn't want to talk about it, when asked about Valencia he outlined what it would take for him to return. Wishing someone well, is basically a goodbye.
If we do down there's no takeover and no rafa. If we stay up there might be a takeover and a good manager coming in. It's not looking likley that the latter will take place
