No international fans are to be allowed at the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics this summer.

94% of the UK have had or are willing to have the coronavirus vaccine. This is the highest vaccine confidence rate in the world.

School attendance has 'minimal impact on serious Covid-19 infection'

The peer-reviewed study, published in the British Medical Journal, found no evidence of a noticeably increased risk of infection during the first wave in the UK between February and August, compared to those adults who do not live with children.

The research was based on used primary care data for 12 million adults aged 18 and over, linked to hospital and intensive care admissions and death records in England during both waves of the pandemic.

The presence and age of any children in each household was recorded, along with factors known to be associated with severe Covid-19 illness, such as weight, age and sex.

The study was led by the electronic health records research group at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Last survey done on this in Aus. about 3 weeks ago found that 76% would be willing to be vaccinated.

Has a vaccine program started in Aus yet? And what vaccine is most prevalent?

Just started with the most prevalent being Astrazeneca. We have licence to manufacture it here and that has already commenced. Also limited supplies of the Pfizer vaccine are also being used.

Having just been diagnosed with PD and over 70 I have moved into the top priority list. My husband is already there but he is in no hurry to have the vaccine.

I may be wrong , but weren't schools closed for 5 1/2 months of that study duration ?

edit , it did cover sept to december also and discovered an increase but not significant , fair enough, edit2 ... by increase based on their numbers you are 20% more likely to catch it living with someone who goes to school than not ... just to clarify the numbers also

Some of these school studies are just released to encourage those families that aren’t sending their children to school to start sending them again.

They wrongly include the March-July 2020 months were very, very few children and staff were in the building.

Got my jab this morning. Didn’t feel a thing. AZ vaccine only at the moment in Hull, apparently the Pfizer one is going to those having their second jabs.

Hi just came down Bev Rd and just before Stepney 8-10 of our foreign residents grown men sat on a wall together , police car pulls out of street opposite and ignores them . Must be lovely to walk down there day or night male or female ! Police can’t do much ,trouble is when they do it’s often soft targets , I’ve worked for bosses who do the same - chastise the grafters and laugh about the shirkers.
No chance of enforcing lockdown if the obvious isn’t dealt with . I am sure they’ll go home some time this afternoon
and complete their census forms !!!
People who ignore the rules just prolong the restrictions
