... and that's the ONLY reason they're coming here, ditto with Liverpool. Hull reds & whites, sad inadequates indeed.

So worse case scenario. We stay down and have 4,000 crowds next season. We then draw White ****e in FA cup round 3. They can guarantee 20,000 tix. What should Ehab do then in your opinion?

And so how was Martin Fish so wrong when in even more desperate times he gave Bradford City fans, bunkers?

Current owners of SMC would probably still put the TWS night on the next week anyway though.
I assume it’s just money to them.

as much as i hate to agree with certain folk
    it's true
the reason this leeds 'legends' talk is happening, is becasue it will sellout, by the way, i've never heard of any of the players bar eddie gray is becasue
we do not have the history, leeds united wrongly have a huge history
we have had 3 promotions to the premier league in 13 years
but how many loyal city fans is there? 10k? maybe
    city has no history
the last time we had a over 20k attendance was the final prem game vs spurs @ 23k
when the average was about 20k

since our final premier league game
our highest attendance was 18k vs derby in 2018 or an average of 15k
season after, 14k vs sheff utd or an average of 12k
the season after was 24k vs chelsea in fa cup. apart from chelsea though, was 16k or an average of 12k
    and then covid.

where have the 10k fans gone?

    and i ****ing hate leeds
    the accent is retarded
    their stadium is ****
    disgusts me

Greater Leeds population is 2.33 million in 2020. Their catchment area is much larger than ours, it is to be expected.

The problem is, the Allams have never tried this, so we don't know do we?

If they'd actually tried to engage with supporters over the last few years, and maybe held the odd event like this to gauge opinion, then we'd have a better idea.

Instead they've only seemed to do things that antagonise (whether it be through ignorance or spite), which naturally has driven people away.

It's a poor effort. These rooms aren't massive and especially with social distancing measures in place I can't imagine a night with Paul McShane, Nick Barmby, Dean Windass and Justin Whittle wouldn't sell out.

Obviously, but it doesn't change the fact that if an owner pisses off the fans, many of them will stop coming, as has quite clearly happened here.

Did Bartlett and Duffen deserve the same treatment when they were in the process of bankrupting the Club?

Unfortunately there are plenty of the same in Brid. Infesting the pub as they refer to Liverpool, Man Utd and TWS as "us" and "we". There are the odd genuine ones, like the bloke who ran buses to Leeds games home and away for years including their times in Division 3. He is originally from Leeds. And was a good footballer, keeping Brian Greenhoff out of the England schoolboys team (something someone informed me of when I said what the **** does he know about football, something he wouldn't have done as he is not the boastful type) before an injury curtailed his career and he later moved here with work a few years later. Sadly someone told me the other week that he couldn't have gone to Leeds this season as both himself and his wife have cancer.

Duffen and Bartlett didn't do things to deliberately antagonise fans, they got us to the Premier League for the first time in our history and they were gone within a few months of things going pear shaped, not remotely comparable.

There is not a Greater Leeds. There is a Leeds City area which includes .Bradford, Huddersfield, Barnsley and Wakefield. Those are not natural Leeds supporters. The city population is just short of 800,000. Which as I always point out to fans of TWS makes them the worst supported club per head of population after Rotherham. And to equate to a 25,000 crowd at 5he KC they would need overb 80,000.

Taking this further ........ yes, our support has been largely **** through the 70's, 80.s and 90's. Then along came the change and opportunity we had all craved, thanks to Adam Pearson. During the 00's something really special was finally happening. The City and wider region became interested and engaged once again in IT'S football club. This wasn't just about what was happening on the pitch, nor just about the new stadium, although that was obviously a massive catalyst for this sea-change, but it was also about what was happening off the pitch, meaning how the club went out and engaged with the community. Finally we were building a new generation of support, as well as re-engaging previously lost support.
Adam Pearson took it as far as he felt he could then handed it over.
Duffen, along with Phil Brown, did a damn good job of keeping the momentum going, culminating in that greatest day in history in May 2008.
When we got relegated from the PL, yes, the support dropped off, maybe to be expected to a degree, but the buzz and interest was still there. Growing a fan base doesn't happen over a few years, it happens over decades of nurturing.
Then along came the Allams. Looked great (to 99% of us at least). But then it all started. In short time, they reversed all the good work done over the previous decade and took us back to square one, or even less than square one given that they've managed to alienate and lose previously staunch long term supporters.

As Drew says in bold above, if (only) they'd actually tried to engage with supporters over the last few years.

This is why I absolutely despise the Allams. And welcoming Leeds and Liverpool 'fans' from our own City into the KC like this is yet one more insult to us supporters and to the City of Hull. Some things are way more important than short term money. But that's not how they (the Allams) operate. Utterly despicable.
