Good first post Smithers. We are deep in it now, only 6 points above the relegation zone. I think selling Tunny will seriously come back to haunt us. If we go down, and let's not be as arrogant enough to believe that cannot possibly happen to us, then the Tunny sale will have been the catalyst.

Sgt are we really any more in it than before last week. We are still 6 points out of it and a game in hand. Even if we lose at Arsenal in our game in hand, we still have a buffer with West Brom at home, West Ham away and then Newcastle at home. We would hope to pick up 2 wins minimum in those three games. Wigan have Man u and Man city next two games. West Ham have Liverpool, then us and then Tottenham. Wolves have easier games on paper but are a further three back. KTF

I'd be looking more at the signing of the lazy **** KJ,

The odds of staying up are more in our favour, points in the bag mean more than prospective theoretical situations. There are games we will get points from we are not safe but we are safer than some!!

IF we lost to Arsenal? I admire your optimism, even if it is baffling.

Sgt -take your point, should have said three wins out of three as there's no way we will lose to Arsenal <laugh>

Pish. Still, an away loss is not the end of the world.

    Smithers
Nice to see you onboard mate. <ok>
WHY is PULIS so negative? I WISH I F****** KNEW MATE? I said take off K.J. WHAT does Pulis do, takes of Pennant FFS.
I think HE went for a pt and we got what we usually get when Pulis does that. NOTHING.

I don't think we're in it anymore than before today Smither's. Gutted but with PULIS, not so much the result!
Everyone on P and G is saying that Jones is garbbage, ARE they all wrong?

Jones is **** Potts, end of. Would rather have Mama, oh no he's injured. Or maybe Tuncay, oh no our genius manager wouldn't play him so he was sold. There's always Demba Ba, oh no we refused to fork out £500,000 for Demba Ba and let him go to West Ham where he has scored 2 on his debut, great piece of business by our "transfer team" again :emoticon-0121-angry:headbang:

Said it a few weeks ago and I'll say it again - Demba Ba knows where the net is ... the last player I can think of that we bought with dodgy knees and couldn't insure went on to be a great player for us - Ian Cranson.

We should have taken the chance on a proven goalscorer ....

Northern - "When the deal fell through it was intimated he was not fit to play for a few weeks. In fact if I recall Stoke said we need players ready to play now" - we've signed fully fit players in the past and they haven't been Pulis fit - fit for anybody else but not Pulis fit - crazy.

When you consider some of the signings we have made and consequent money wasted - Soares, Davies, Tonge, Arismendi to name a few, then Ba, a proven scorer, should have been signed.

    Sgt,

The opposition mate, we have lost a battle but there is plenty more war in us yet mate. There are plenty of points up for grabs, we don't need them all.

I guess a gamble on Demba Ba would have been well worth it! I NEVER have understood exactly " What Pulis fit" actually is to be honest. He, Demba Ba seem's bloody fit now. Not sure he can keep West Ham up though!

Sgt <laugh> Don't bang the head too hard, it causes brain damage.

Has anyone seen the Demba Ba goals? I mean, 2 on your debut could be very impressive, but if he's just gotten lucky, and "scored" like Tévez supposedly did in the Manchester derby just there, and another one where the ball broke to him 6 inches out, it's not so great. He could also turn out to be another Sambegou Bangoura, great for all of 12 minutes, and then pure crap. He could be very good, but let's give him another few weeks before we start castigating Pulis for not signing him.

I saw Ba come on for the last 15 minutes last week (I think that was against Birmingham too) and he looked sharp and quick, didn't show any signs of having dodgy knees.
But you never know, they could just give out on him in a few weeks. Very risky business buying players with potential injury problems.

But then being a manager is a risk and all about taking a risk ....... we don't, it shows in the play away from the Brit - play safe and hope for the draw and get beat 1 none ....... we're a good enough team not to have to play safe .... but we do need a goalscorer ... which we still haven't got.

Ba may yet turn out to be crap ... this time I don't think so, I just have a gut felling ........ so much so that I've put him in my fantasy team and won my game ... I'll wait for the "told you so's" later in the season !!!!!

Actually the way we play the fantasy league game is different to all others. I may put some info on here at some stage, as to how we run it - ready for next season - and invite 15 of you to take part ........ me and my mates have been running it for 20 years next year, unique squads, playing fixtures, league table etc - it's brillaint. I'll think it through.
