£275k too rich for me - I'm worried about Imperial Alcazar for a small treble

Day 2 worked out better with Bob Ollinger and Sir Gerhard so managed to sneak a tiny profit in on the day.

    Day 3 picks:
    Marsh - Chatham Street Lad
    - It's hard to oppose Envoi but i'm not getting involved at those odds. Chatham bolted up off 141 in the Caspian over this distance and in particular the new course. They tried to change tactic the next day but i imagine they will revert to the midfield/holed up again.
Pertemps - Imperial Alcazar - Looking at previous winners, they tend to be more unexposed and go on to better things after this and he looks up to that standard. Question to answer on the ground. Can see Champagne Platinum going close for Henderson, right profile for the race.
Ryanair - Mister Fisher - Looks on paper 1 of the most exciting races of the week. Hoping Mister Fisher can continue his upward curve, he wasn't far behind some of these in last years Marsh which was on soft, he will like this ground more.
Stayers - Sire Du Berlais - Looks tailor made for this race, twice Pertemps winner on this new course.
Plate - Fils D'oudairies - Unexposed novice who has been running behind Monkfish and Envoi Allen.
Mares Novice - Gauloise - Hoping the better ground will suit more than last time, doesn't have much to find on the front 2.
Kim Muir - Milanford - Another unexposed novice. Will stay the trip and ran his best race over todays conditions.

Saver on a JP McManus L15. He has live chances in the first 4 races.

The way i see it with cashing out early is that you actually need to have had some winners first, something i am definitely not accustomed too at the moment...<laugh><laugh><laugh>

Anyway here's to cashing out on the following...

1:20 - Envoi Allen, ( still have a few accy's going with him in em ) Fusil Raffles ew
1:55 - The Dandy Mag & Come on Teddy
    2:30 - Mister Fisher & Fakir Doudairies
    3:05 - Paisley Park NAP
3:40 - Sully D'Oc Aa ( how do you pronounce this name by the way, won't care if it wins mind...<laugh> ) & Mister Whitaker
    4:15 - Hook Up
    4:50 - Shantou Flyer & Storm Control

Hoping for a bit of a better day than yesterday but it wouldnt be hard really...

Good luck to all who are still playing and have their head above water still...!! <cheers> <ok>

1.20 - Envoi Allen - I'm sure a few people have EA in a few accumulators on here. I'm no different. Fingers crossed this beauty comes in!
1.55 - Mrs Milner 12/1 - For me it's a toss up between Bosses Oscar & Mrs Milner. I've gone with the latter int he hope that it will leapfrog over those fences.
2.30 - Allaho 9/2 - Really looking forward to this race. Melon a definite contender but I can't shift from the beast of a horse that is Allaho.
3.05 - Paisley Park 9/4 (win), Storyteller 9/1 (ew) - Love the 2 of these horses and hoping for a a big run out of both. Flooring Porter (14/1) I feel is a danger as well at a big price here too but have opted to stay away.
3.40 - The Shunter (3/1) - Big player here and hoping for a BIG result.
4.15 - Glenns of Antrim (8/1) (ew) - Prefer it to the rest of the field at a decent price.
4.50 - Sizing Midnight (25/1) (ew) - Got this at 33's last night but I think it has every chance to place and ground should suit. Will hopefully be a big improvement from Wincanton.

    Best of luck everyone!

    Milliner

    Caribbean Boy
    Roseys Hollow

Single on Storm Control in the lucky last

    Morning all..

Pretty certain Envoi Allen hoses up today but I cant back him at that price so have used the PP free bet on Chatham Street Lad at 12/1 each way for some interest in the race. Other bets today:

1.55pm Come On Teddy 17/2 each way 6 places 1/4 odds
2.30pm Fakir D'Oudairies 6/1 each way 4 places. Really fancy his chances today, as I think the step up in trip on quick ground is ideal and we know he runs well at the festival. Big chance..
3.05pm Flooring Porter 14/1 each way 5 places
3.40pm Caribbean Boy 9/1 each way and Old Grangewood 25/1 each way both 6 places
4.15pm Roseys Hollow 13/2 each way 5 places

    Good luck all! :emoticon-0167-beer:

Looking at it a bit more in-depth since the start of the 2016 Festival the forum's favourite trainer has had 16 winners at the meeting. By day (in correlation with how the races are run in 2021) these can be broken down as follows 8-7-0-1. So 15 out of his 16 winners have been in races currently run on either the Tues or Wed!

I guess you can spend all day looking at the Pertemps Final and still be none the wiser but my arrow has landed on Keeper Hill e/w at 40/1. After being well beaten in some of the top staying chases in the early part of the season he was switched to hurdles and qualified for this by finishing 3rd at Musselburgh on his last run. That was off 142 (same as today) carrying top weight and he is certainly one I think will improve for spring ground. His record on good-soft or better is pretty decent - a close 2nd to Frodon in the Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton, a close 3rd in the big 3 mile handicap hurdle at Aintree and victory in a pertemps qualifier at Warwick in January 2019. He has run a decent race at the festival before too - 13L 7th in Willoughby Court's Neptune, before falling in the 4-miler the year after (on heavy) and then well beaten in the Stayers Hurdle 2 years ago (soft in places). This is probably a more realistic target and hopefully the first time cheekpieces can help him eke out a bit. If ridden handy he should stay as well as anything and can hopefully be in the mix.

Done my Cheltenham morning walk, managed to take a route that was slightly less wayward than Goshen's. Lovely weather down here in Gloucestershire, the sun is about to break through the clouds.

A funny days racing today, fortunate enough to have bets running onto Envoi and i've also got Chantry House and Chatham Street Lad without the favourite in bets which look decent at the minute. It is an odd race but should on all known form go to the potential superstar of superstars.

I would love Imperial Alcazar or Ask Dillon to win for all at Ravenswell Farm, it would mean a hell of a lot to the whole yard. I have backed both, and hopefully both run well.

Then the Ryanair is one of the races of the week in terms of puzzles, the Mullins horses are very interesting but I do have a little bit going onto Allaho. I am not confident at all, so will just leave it to run and save the pocket.

Then in the Stayers i've been barking on about Sire Du Berlais all year, and he would make a lovely day for me. Paisley Park would be a lovely story and his price is very fair. I also would love Sam Spinner and Lil Rockefeller to run big races at massive prices. Interestingly they've gone for new headgear for both.

I'd love Happy Diva to win at the festival, putting her in a handicap instead of the mares race is very interesting and her mark is getting interesting!!

The mares novice race looks a minefield, I've got small stakes on Glen Of Antrim at silly prices and I have backed The Glancing Queen and Martello Sky on the day. I couldn't believe the latter was 50/1.

Then its the Kim Muir. Good luck with that.

    Day 3:

1:20 - Envoi Allen (like the rest of the country am waiting on this one), Asterion Forlonge 20/1 Ew (skybet money back if 2nd.3rd.4th). Straight fc.
1:55 - Imperial Alcazar 13/2. Kansas City Chief 50/1 Ew (PP free bet). Unowhatimeanharry 66/1 Ew. Everglow 33/1 (ew Patent). Combi fc/tc
    2:30 - Imperial Aura 17/2
3:05 - Paisley Park 21/10. Sire Du Berlais 9/1 (ante post). Reverse fc
3:40 - The Shunter 11/4. Coole Cody 28/1 (ew Patent). Reverse fc.
    4:15 - Royal Kahala 5/1. Martello Sky 35/1 & Perfect Myth 20/1 both ew 4 places. Combi fc/tc.

    TOUGH Thursday
complete minefield today, very hard to be confident on any selections

1.20 Envoi Allen should win but he is up against some good horses. I think Shan Blue who jumps so well might give him most to do

1.55 A case can be made for many but I liked the look of The Bosses Oscar before he was made favourite today.
I can't understand why Spiritofthegames with such a good festival record is 20/1 Great each way bet.

2.30 Stick a pin in and hope for the best! Imperial Aura likes it here, won at the festival last year (beating Galvin - a winner here this year) and you get better odds than the market leaders. Min and Samcro for me the main dangers, and obviously Melon will run into a place!

3.05 I was fairly confident about Paisley Park, less so now considering the market move for Fury Road.
However I think the main dangers will come from Sire Du Berlais and The Storyteller, my each way bets.

3.40 The Shunter looks a bit short for me. Farclas might well be top class and also think Caribean Boy is a good each way bet on better ground

4.15 Roseys Hollow a good a bet as any

4.50 3 to consider - Plan of Attack and Shantou Flyer have proven festival form. Storm Control has been in fine form this season and is the best each way bet

They've closed all the footpaths around the course so can't get anywhere as near as you normally would. Was tempted to go onto Cleeve Hill but wanted to watch a race from Doncaster for betting purposes!

Day 3 and the toughest so far. Hopefuls below, no real confidence in any!

120 Fusil Raffles ew 18-1 currently

155 Milliner bottom weight for the Rachel/Henry team (Careful - there is also Mrs Milner in this race)

230 Mister Fisher - but may have a saver on Samcro for old times sake, and he is being supported

305 Fury Road – can’t ignore the market move for this one

340 Coole Cody ew 28-1 currently

415 Glens Of Antrim ew best price 9-1 but many have a shout in this

450 Bob Mahler ew 22-1 currently - another pinsticker!

    Good luck all <ok>
