You are right, I just checked I pay £230, 4 x £57.50 direct debits, for each card so I am better off than I thought <laugh> I am in the East Stand level with the North Stand 18 yard line.

Hopefully that blue coated ( bar )steward gets on here and realises what a prick he was.

If you are on here and reading this I think you acted like a twat.

Anyone on here who knows the blue coated hitler, tell him he’s a twat.

You have a point mate, I'm not disagreeing as I wasn't there.

Sadly it's sometimes difficult working in those situations and people are issued with absolute instructions ...

... using initiative and common sense aren't always possible.

Health & Safety regulations are a nightmare and stadiums are full of excitable, sometimes drunken, people.

The fault here, lies with the club, and their lack of response imo.

The lack of any response from the club is inexcusable but to say a wheelchair is causing an obstruction but thousands of people standing in groups supping their drinks isn’t, is just idiotic.

if his family were all standing around him in a group would it really matter if he were there or not? Some people lack common sense when dealing with situations once they get given responsibility.

I would still write to that Chris Waters lad and maybe they could sort the old boy out with a streaming pass, it would be a nice touch.

Chris did try his best to help but the club wouldn’t budge or indeed listen. One guy who sat along from the old man even told them they were breaking disability laws, but again no joy. The hardest part for me was pushing him out of the ground and seeing the tears in his eyes. Which is the main reason I will never go back, last time I saw my dad cry at a game was the 73 cup final

I cannot promise anything, but if you can get me copies of relevant information ( on the quiet like, mods know my email?,). I may be able to get the info to someone close to senior management... not sure what will happen then of course.

Thank you for the offer there but my old man is housebound now so his going to matches has come to an end. Just a great shame it was 5 years early thanks to an obnoxious steward. The funny thing was , looking back on it now was when other fans were getting involved the steward told them to go away as it was nothing to do with them. But our fans being the best they were arguing that in time it could be any of them. But again the steward had his agenda and wouldn’t budge. Asked him to get Martin Bain down as earlier he had said he wanted to engage more with the fans. He just said he was too busy, at that the old man threw his season card on the floor and said take me home.

Spot on mate. Like Smug, yourself and I have all now said, folk may do what they want with their money. Same as you, I support the club not the people running it. I'm glad people want to return, get the sol rocking again. In the not so distant past the place was like a ghost town with a feeling of hopelessness. "huh, rather you than me, I'll be thinking of you when I'm sat in the nice warm pub watching it", was another I used to get aswell. Not that I was bothered, but I got the feeling they were trying to justify not going. Oddly, same people I knew that done that were scratting around trying to get tickets from Wembley. But I digress, lets get the place full again!

The whole situation around wheelchairs is fraught with problems.

At Rock City we had a 2000 capacity but no wheelchair access. We had one wheelchair regular who used to come from Grimsby and the front door lads would lift him, and his chair, up to carry through to the dancefloor. When the groups came on four of us would carry him up the back stairs to the balcony otherwise he'd have seen nowt. One night we had the local fire chief who spotted him. He rightly said that, if there was a fire, he'd very likely be burned alive.

So we were unable to help him and the poor bugger would usually be looking at the back of people unable to see the group. The fine would've been massive and we could've been closed down. The lad offered to sign a disclaimer, etc, but rules were rules. I don't know what they are at the SOL but I can imagine. Getting a safety certificate, these days, isn't always that straightforward. I'd imagine the club would be prevented from having wheelchairs remain in certain areas.

Shyte but sadly we're all bound by rules & regs these days.

A sad reminder of what this club had become. Let's hope we're on our way to once again becoming the club we all new and loved, I'm sure we are heading for better times and your dad will see it was just a passage in time that should be well forgotten.

Quite understand where you are coming from there, but the steward said he couldn’t even buy a pint and sit there and drink which caused a lot of people to kick off at him. But done now and three season card monies they have lost over the last 4 years.

Music to my ears that. I don't want to ever hear about our boardroom again. Let the work on the football pitch be all the news we need.

It's been that long since they used it we'd need Indiana Jones to open it up!
