What a dream set up he got, that probably wouldnt have suited Energumene to be fair.

We’ll never know Boris. At least we go into next year with an exciting contest on our hands.

Not yet Bob but these first 2 races always looked the least competitive of the day

I meant a three runner Arkle. I’m glad Shiskin won but it’s disappointing how that played out. Still lots of questions about Shiskin after that. We’re lucky jumpers stick around for a few years so we will get to learn how good he really is.

Yeah these first 2 races were always gonna be a canter for the faves...but the rest of the card looks a lot more competitive and I m really looking forward to the Champion hurdle.. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Wouldn't have made a difference had you got him at 250/1 Edward. Shiskin wasn't losing based on that evidence. Cake walk. I was also an Enurgemene fan but he wasn't beating that.

Yeah it was impressive tbf, always knew that it was going to take something special to beat Shishkin, found the only one with a prayer and he doesnt make the race.

It certainly would have been a good spectacle. That horse looked good today though, I'd still question the form of what is in behind at top level but he beat them very easily so at least we know he's too class, he just had no opposition today. Curious why they rode Captain Guinness so aggressively too.

Unfortunately its been the trend in recent years with the Arkle - very uncompetitive and often a superstar bossing it

I was on here last year telling you all Shishkin was a superstar before the Supreme, Oddy put him up as the lay of the meeting at 13/2, but hes been about 4/1 for this since that day last year, hes never been a bet id be interested in at any stage, its all about the price, once the public knows about a superstar they are rarely value.
