IF, and it's always a big IF, these favs come in today i would imagine most punters will be in clover and up for the week with the amount of accy's going on... I would imagine that the crookies will be running for cover very soon and hoping for a boil over in one if not two of em today...
I would really Appreciate It if those with big ante-post prices on Shiskin weren't so smug! To be honest I'm just jealous but I'm a bit of a Happygolucky sort of guy, I'll double up and say I'll even take One For The Team when needs be, but not when it comes to going against Honeysuckle or Concertista. My old Grandad loves a punt, and will usually have some Sage Advice for me, not that I ever listen, I'm usually on my travels and only have thoughts for my Next Destination.
Less than an hour to go now boys and girls. I trust the fridges are well stocked? I think I might have to crack open my first cold one soon to calm my excitement
Here we go then...round 1 1.20 Soaring Glory - the Betfair is tough race to win and now he's back with Novices, he just might be able to make that experience count. 2.30 Cepage (ew) - an old favourite of mine so backing with the heart rather than the head! 3.05 Goshen - Hopefully the "old" Goshen turns up today 3.40 Roksana - The Skeltons should have 1 winner 4.15 Houx Gris - Paul Nicholls for the same reason as above! Singles on all of them 10 x Doubles 1 Accumulator which pays at 36,287-1 !! Good Luck everyone and safe journeys for all horses and jockeys!
I’ve taken the week off to decorate the spare room. Which means starting at first light if I want time for last minute form study before racing. Not really liking these 1.20pm off times for the first race.
Right, lunch is done, a Spam & beetroot butty, salt n vinegar crisps, mug of tea now to wash it down awaiting the start of what i hope will be a great 4 days of racing. Im not bothered about the numbers in the race, it is what it is, its Cheltenham, it's festival time and it's a glorious day outside. What's not to like...!!! Good luck to all, let's hope they all come home safe, and were all smiling by 5:00pm on Friday...
Had a large festival breakfast here....usually I would wash it down with a beer around 11am but steady pace today what with being at home. Just cracked open first cool lager..
The big question is, do I be good dad today or not. Just had a text off my daughter. Can I pick her up. I said "Yes, what time". The text came back 1:20 please
