Kyril already wearing it on his suit lapel at Wembley, I reckon they’d be up for bringing it back.

Not for me. It’s our history. I like the current badge as the old one means little to anyone born after 1995!!

I reckon we'll get a new one, simple like the ship one, but a gazillion time less cluttered than the current dogs dinner.

Last time I checked, Sunderland still has ships using it's port, so it's not just History, it's still relevant.

As much as it's the badge I grew up with and I love it but it looks very dated now. I'm happy with the badge we have and if we manage success then maybe think of a change but the old is not the new

the current one is just Bob Murray's pretentious ****e like the stadium name. I like the pre 1972 you can see on wiki, that is our heritage.

We won’t go back, but we will get a new, marketable one.

The current badge represents so many areas of the city and looks great.

It’s crap. The current one is miles better, that being said it’s about time it was modernised a bit.

It’s got the bridge and penshaw monument on it. That’s it. Oh and the sun I think.

The ship badge has always been the one for me, but that is because it is an age thing I am sure. I think it looks fantastic. I never saw the need for a change personally. Not sure we will see a change, but I was surprised to see KLD with it on. Mind you I have that pin badge and every time I go to the match I wear it.

Love the old badge to bits but it's a no from me. New one is decent imo with a canny bit of 'hstory' if you look into it.

Current badge looks like its been done as a GCSE project. Too much going on. Should be simplified.

This. Especially the forced Latin ****e when no one speaks it any more. Very forced. The old badge was much better imo . More relevant , less pretentious, and ironically more the kind of badge that clubs go for nowadays

I must say the old one holds some nostalgia for me but the new one is better.

I have to say I still like the one we have now. It's more a shield, few landmarks and history woven into it. Personally, I'm not a fan of say and no disrespect, but Bournemouths badge for example. A head sticking the nut on a ball? Watfords moose? I love the ship badge as we all do, but that was for Roker park.
