Good job most players are fit and healthy. If not we might have been forced to play one of our goalies up front - might have scored! Was the last time we played them at home, when there was about 20k in the ground. Ian Atkins hoof ball team were going to muller us, in fact the opposite happened and we went in dramatically different directions after that game, them out of the league and us to the Prem.
Nice to hear an opposition manager say something positive... Oxford United boss Karl Robinson makes big Hull City admission The Tigers return home after Tuesday night's stunning 3-1 win at title rivals Peterborough United, and face play-off chasing Oxford Karl Robinson believes Hull City have the quality of a Championship squad playing in League One, and feels the table-toppers are the stand-out side in the third tier. City went three points clear at the top of the league on Tuesday night with an impressive 3-1 success at second-placed Peterborough United, their fourth successive victory and 20 th of the season. Despite being one of the early season promotion favourites, Robinson’s U’s have huffed and puffed this term, but returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win at rivals Swindon Town in midweek and will arrive at the KCOM Stadium knowing three points could see them move into the top six, though Robinson ha suggested the pressure will be Grant McCann's table-toppers. “We feel it’s certainly going to give us a positive step forward,” Robinson said. “It takes the pressure off a little bit – imagine losing twice to Swindon in one year, regardless if we beat Hull. “We’re racking up points and it’s another chance to put three points on. “Equally, with how good Hull are it could easily be zero. We’ve got to make sure we impose ourselves on the game and not the reverse of that.” “There was no better way to start that than by winning the local derby but we know how hard it is going to be at Hull." The pair drew 1-1 at the Kassam Stadium in early December, in what has been the only Tigers game played in front of supporters during the past twelve months. Greg Docherty salvaged a point for City, and Robinson says Grant McCann’s side will be acutely aware of the challenge they’ll be up against this weekend against one of the league's best passing sides. “I think they are the best team in the league - I think three teams have been a little bit above the rest so far and Hull have been one of them," Robinson continued. “So we know how hard it is going to be and our injury list got even worse on Tuesday with a couple of players getting knocks and doubtful for Saturday to add to an already long list. “They’re a Championship team playing in League One and we know how difficult our afternoon’s going to be made by the quality of the opposition “I’m sure they know it’s not going to be a walk in the park for them.”
,We are a decent side we all know that however we have had our moments of inconsistency. We were in a fantastic position but that was a couple of months back and far to early. We then lost ground a bit with some poor results, teams around us still have games in hand, however we needed to go on a winning run which we have and now have put ourselves back at the top and in the mix. However the end is closing in and every game will be difficult, teams around us still have games in hand so we have got to keep winning. It’s all about pressure and I think we have been pressurised, we had to respond which we have and now we are on level terms. The thing now is to beat decent sides like Oxford and then really turn the pressure on the others.
It might happen but... She's probably a bit worried about her fella and one of her Granbairn's is giving her grief, so don't be too disappointed if she fails to turn up. Three one though? That sounds good.
Tough one to call this one, it will be a tight game, but as long as we play well then we should have enough to beat them.
I remember that too, but take heart 1) we didn't lose to sheff utd on Tuesday. 2) none of the players were born 50 years ago. 3) we've already lost many games at home 1-0 to supposedly weaker teams so chances of that happening again are slim. 4) City will know they've been given a lifeline with Peterborough, Lincoln and Donny all dropping points lately so they won't screw up again. 5) McCann was promised a £1.50 a hour pay increase if he gets them promoted. Let's be positive, there's enough negativity out there in the world. We are top of the league and are frightened of no one. 5-0 City
We went top of the league after that Sheff Utd game and the first division was finally in our grasp. Biggest league attendance of the season (26k?) the following Saturday, unveiling big new signings Ken Knighton and Bill Baxter, saw us frustrated by a team who ended up getting relegated. If ever there was typical City, this was it.
